Got mine today for R1250, Marshall Woodmead. Happy with the price, more or less as expected.

Took an SM57 along with it, and other assorted bits and bobs. 8)

Gonna be using it for a daytime gig on the 4th and 5th of September out in Eikenhof. Obviously during practices too, so will post my thoughts soon as I've been standing on it for a bit. Now that I can get my strings back in tune quickly, I might even pull out the whammy bar... ?

I'm assuming the TB feature works, but wouldn't know how to verify it 100%. Is there something I should look out for?

I was thinking of using it for my acoustic, at open mic's or other gigs, but just a bit worried that it would effect the sound of the guitar.
Maybe plug your Takamine through it and see if the sound is the same!

I just need a fast solution to get from an alternate tuning back to standard tuning, I suppose getting another guitar would be the best ?

Apparently it doesn't work so great with acoustics. Will test it out nonetheless this evening, along with the SM57. Very keen to see what the recorded tone sounds like compared to the very quacky UST.

It's true bypass, so as long as your patch cables are decent, there is no effect on the tone when bypassed.

This is something I've been meaning to ask as well: I know cables run all sorts of prices for x reasons, but things seem a bit less clear on patch cables. After all, pointless spending big ronts on a fancy cable, only to plug into R5 a piece patch cables...

Is there a decent patch cable brand to stick with, at reasonable cost?

Amen to that. I sometimes see pedalboards containing R12K+ worth of pedals, all connected with a R100 packet of cheap Leem cables.

I make my own, so haven't tried the commercial brands. If I was looking to buy, I'd probably ask Matta to make me some.

I have read some reviews and it seems as though there is no Alternate Tuning feature yet, but there could be software upgrades in the future.

There is a usb connection at the back of the pedal, which should be for software upgrades.

Wouldn't suit me then unless I do all my alternate tuning songs first and then the standard tuning songs.

Although it does look like a fine gadget to have ?

what you could try squonk is if you using your acoustic you should be using a DI box.... the boss DI has a 2nd unbalanced line out so it needn't even be inline with your main signal thats balanced and going to desk .......... but will still get your guitar signal............ but if alan says it's true bypass.......... you won't notice anything inline ........ well live anyway

? oh and i loved the chirp on the video about a "kick in the A440 " that had me rolling

If you have an iPhone you can also get the polytune as an App. Works just as well as the pedal except that it does not have the 1/4" I/p.

I use mine all the time at home and is a great time saver.
