What do you guys mean you wish it had a looper... HD500 has a 48 second loop thing. The others are 24 seconds I think. Or are you talking about something else?

@Dee - thanks for the review links. Listening to the clips on the first review, they sound so dry and boring. Would a real amp sound just like that? Probably. If you mic'd a real amp with some dry settings and played boring riffs through it, it would probably evoke exactly the same level of "meh".

I'm not complaining about the review, what they did is right... just saying it's really hard to judge. Gotta use the thing for at least 2 weeks in a real recording/live situation I guess, only then you'll really know.

really? they did put looping into them? yippeeeeeeeee.. but where did you read about that, i cant find anything that says that on the line 6 site

This guy has a few interesting comparisons up, I liked this one of Pod HD vs Axe FX metal amp simulations:

There's not that much difference in actual quality I guess. Unless you directly compare them you could never say the Pod HD sounds "bad". In a mix both would probably be very workable, and both would require work...just like a real amp. But something about the Axe clips just makes my heart beat a little faster.. but it's subjective and hard to pin down.

Still haven't heard HD vs the existing POD models directly compared. That's more fair in any case, the Axe is 3-4 times the price.
