So, as requested, here are some pics of my axe ? (edit) I decided to give her a name, mexican origin of course! her name is Caliopa, meaning beautiful, and of beautiful voice! The legendary headstock... My headstock... Down the neck... From the body... The whole gorgeous baby! Now, there is some body damage, not too bad. so i will get that restored eventually! overall, even acoustically, im extremely happy! i dont have an amp yet, but at this moment, i dont care! this is just plain awesome! I cant wait to start my lessons!!!! If i had the cash, which i dont right now because of buying the guitar, i would buy the cube that Ettienne is selling, because it is an awesome price. maybe i can pull a few strings again and get that too! lol!

Haha, nah Aubs, i still had to get strings too remember! thats the only reason i saw it there! lol! funny i never saw it last week when i was there!
anyways, if anyone has a lead on a red MS2, i would greatly appreciate it! especially since the online retailers dont have stock! lol

update:

I have bought a roland cube 20x... (one day i wash to say Marshall tube amp :-[)
as well as a nice warwick rock case hard case for my strat!

and in unrelated news, got my soundcard too!

thanks go out to Sean at Lovemore music in Boksburg for his help and patience with me, and the great prices too!
good thing we went to school together! lol!

also, i have my first lesson later tonight!
im as excited as anything for this! cant wait! i hope my day flies by that i can have my leeson already! lol!

I still use my crappy old practise amp because it can sit in the living room without pretending to be a piece of furniture - something a 4x10" tube combo cannot manage.

Good move getting the hard-case.

Notes on the snap jack:

It is super quiet, and actually quite handy! if i got more electrics, id be sure to buy more tips so that i only needed to swop guitars and the cable would stay!
whether there is a superior sound... maybe if i was playing on an uber expensive marshall jcm, i would pick it up, but there doesnt seem to be any loss of tone or difference to the fender tonemaster cable i have!

it is built much better than the fender though! and i suspect it will stand alot more abuse than the fender cable would be able to handle!

overall, im quite happy with it! its super thick, easy to use! i would recommend it! ?

plus, with the great support from TI Distibution, i doubt there is a better cable for the same price!

Hey........."Guitar for Dummies".......... ? hey, those "Dummies" series are quite amazing. I've got them for all sorts of other stuff. What is the guitar one like? Good?

when in doubt... buy a for dummies book! lol!

honestly, i enjoy the guitar for dummies book more than the other one, complete learn to play guitar manual!

im a slow learner with the guitar and i need to practice alot, and the complete guitar manual "expects" me to play quicker than the for dummies book! if that makes sense?!
the for dummies book feels as if its been written for me and my speed which is slower!

the layout is also pretty good! with this specific one as well, its 8 or so books in one, so while i might not get absolutely everything in detail, at least there is enough about everything in it!
