Does Marshall Woodmead pre setup guitars before you buy them?

Not really........I have bought guitars from them, they tell you they'll do a set-up, and I still take it to my own tech, who does a much better job.
        I need a tech's contact number

I wouldn't expect a free setup on a sale guitar. But the discount you get should more than cover the cost.

In Johannesburg, for setups, consider Andy McGibbon's Guitar World or Music Connection.
Popped into Marshall this morning. A bit hectic and I dont really go for the 'sale' sort of vibe with people pushing and me swearing and spitting and so forth. Anyway, I wanted to get a tu-3 which they said would be -40%. Then they didnt have but said they would get next week and still give me the discount. They didnt have D'Addario EJ22. They had Fenders and all sorts marked down 40% and 35% and that is big saving but I just looked the other way like I had all that stuff already anyway. It's HAAAAARRRDDDD!!!!! Should have seen the look on the chillunses faces when they see the grocery things I brought home.
I went there for a korg tuner..... sadly at 2:45 the felt it more important to close early than serve me..... they seem to think its ok to say we will be open tommorow... >☹
They aint open tomorrow... only monday (i stand corrected according to website.
Bought a cab from them, was told it has vintage 30's in by the sales person, got home after the purchase, went onto orange's cite, its a 2x12 cab,but its rated at 120watts...thus,impossible to be v30's they said they order me a pair, but I have to pay for them, not even a sorry,I am very mad, this is after spending about 16000 at them in 2days time...I'm going their on monday,I'm considering legal action or sum thing...

they should at the very least refund you ...

keep us informed on the outcome of this
                        They're open tomorrow and Monday.

But, if for some reason, maybe an earthquake or some other natural disaster they're not open tomorrow, please don't take legal action against me.

                        :?

Guitars are meant to be setup at the factory in which they're built.

It's practically impossible for a music store to setup every guitar before they're put on display...the store would have to have at least one or two full-time guitar techs setting up stock guitars all day long...it's not practical or affordable.

However, if you buy a guitar from them and it needs a setup they will do it for you.

Tokai, will they do it at the normal cost? I seriously think the Z2 needs it, although Im going to ask them to send it in for replacement as you cant fix the finish. (as per other post)
If I were you I would just ask them to do it as part of the sale for no extra pay. I did that with my first guitar and much to my surprise it worked 8)
                                Why thank you sir.

I will be going in tomorrow (holding thumbs) and asking that they do that to my Z2 when it returns ... and my Z-1 as that was my first guit... and so far I have bought everything from them.
