No pics yet as I am awaiting this weekend for time to take decent photos and if someone maybe has a guitar stand to lend me thatll be great ?

So been playing on my Cort X-1 for the last few weeks (no much this week due to time as I started my own business) and I have been loving my X-1 pared with my Line 6 Spider IV 15 amp, but today I took the plunge (was on special) and bought my Cort EVL Z2 (the reason I decided to learn to play guitar).

All I can say is that the sound difference from one guitar to the next is amazing... the Z2 sounds so much more raw and angry.

Ill post a full 'beginners' review once I have had some more time with it.

PS: How does a person adjust the straps to look sexier with the guitar? Im not rock star enough right now ?

Look at the guitar carefully, check the glue filling the neck joint (the black line they couldn't hide with paint), check where the binding meets the body on the one horn, then replace the plastic nut and have the frets rounded because they're 'plekked' flat at the moment.
It's a nice sounding guitar...but you can buy 3 PRS SE's for that price.

I was going to say. Gibsons can be great. But be very critical when you're going to lay down that much cash because they unfortunately have a reputation for letting way too many duds off the production line. Make sure the guitar's a good one when that much cash is involved.

All I'm saying is...Marshall have the biggest range of ESP's on earth, they're the agents, and they're the PRS agents ...for the same price as that Gibby you can get three ESP LTD's or three PRS SE's...or two ESP/PRS SE guitars and an Orange amp, or one PRS/ESP and a Mesa Boogie 5/25 Express. ?

That's food for thought.

I'm sure the OP drives a nice Mercedes, he won't need a 26K bakkie...only guys like me drive a 26K bakkie. ?

Very true... but a Gibson is something which will value more in the future and its art...

I will however look at the PRS and ESP's.

Giggsy thanx for asking me about my newest child...

I bought the black Z2 (really fancied the white as well, but didnt see any stock) and all I can say is wow...

It feels so easy to play and soooo comfy. I have to admit to it being heavier than my Z1. I will be doing a little comparison later today to see what the different is in sound. I already know the Z2 is helluva metal/hard rock sounding so Im happy that was not just a rumour on the net.

Anyone here know how much Marshall Music charges for a set up?
Also if they have those wall mount guitar hangers in stock?

Make sure you look at any guitar you buy very closely. The last thing you want is to pay good money for a fixer-upper. Leave that to property.

I already have a black Les Paul shape guitar so I'll probably, when my bank stops showing a minus sign, get either the white or that tobacco burst (I think thats what its called) - will have to play one of each to decide cos I am torn straight down the middle between the two

The Z2 in white is amazing...

My next git will have to be the Cort EVL Accoustic... then Ill be looking at some older Fenders/Gibsons to maybe fix up as I love collecting stuff.

Ill start ebay'ing tomorrow for old/antique parts.
