  • hey there people of the forum

hey there everybody, my name is nic. i've been playing for a few seriously months now and am wanting to get more serious about it.

at the moment i have a home made guitar and amp, the guitar was built using parts of a peavey cheapo guitaro and some wood i had lying around, built outa boredom, and the amp was a collection of stuff from car speakers to an old guitar pre amp, to my old kitchen cupboard (built outa necessity… electric guitar and no amp?? ???)... heres a link to a pic of the two if you're intersested http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=318796&l=b9d57&id=551841583

my favorite guitarists include wes montgomery, django the gypsy master ? eric clapton, shuggie otis (best guitarist ever, the reason why i play, google him or watch a youtube video and be amazed if you dont believe me). i like genres ranging from jazz, blues and old school rock to electronica and lounge music (so long as it has a guitar playing in it ?)

anyway, looking forward to meeting new people and expanding my guitar knowledge, maybe jam a bit in the future, you never know...
cheers (pardon the bad grammar and lack of caps, its been a long day)
    Hi Nic

I build my first amp too! Welcome and looking forward to your posts.
RESPECT for building your own guitar and amp out of necessity. I just think that's awesome.
Howzit Nic welcome to the forum!

Welcome Nic - Wes and Django Reinhardt, you know where they keep the good stuff - well at least the very mature stuff. ?

hey guys thanks for the welcome hey...
as they say, necessity is the mother of all invention. i only hope that i can go a week without shocking myself on the amp...
                Cool.

I heard from someone that a guitar amp was turned into a microphone by reversing input/output, which had a strange sound.
