Warren, I dont think he meant it in a harsh way.
Thanx all for the input. My initial question was, is the body of the Z2 (some chinese wood) as good as that of the Z4 which is Mahogany?
I have to say that this has sparked an interesting debate as I do need a smaller easier amp as my playing will be mostly into headphones as my daughter sleeps early and Im tired of hearing the delay when playing into my PC. On weekends though I will jam as loud as I can.
As stated in another post, my initial amp choices were the Line 6 Spider 15 and the Roland Cube 15x, but after seeing the difference in price and prices on special Ive started looking at the Cube 30 etc.
Is the whole tube idea really a problem should I want to play quietly and without pedals?
On the tone-wood question, better wood is more desirable and therefore more expensive. However this might not be a crucial factor if you're getting the Z2 at a great deal. On a R2100 guitar it's more likely that you will vastly improve the tone with a PuP-grade anyway, so maybe use the money you save for that purpose.
Latency issue is fixable, as ezietsman said, with the correct drivers. A quick google or two should sort you out.
Tube amps: I believe the Blackstar is around the closest you'll get to a "full" tube amp sound at reasonable volumes (or even through headphones) without spending lots of money. It's designed to be a practice / studio amp after all. Remember though, that although tube amps are sought-after and more expensive, the idea that they're "better" than solid state amps is subjective. Always try and plug your guitar in for a test drive before you make your final decision.
You don't really need more more watts on your amp unless you're planning on playing with a band, and even then you might prefer to run a line-out into a PA or simply mic' up your existing amp. In other words, if the features are the same, there may not be much point in spending more money on a 30W cube when a 15W will do fine (I don't know what the features on the cubes are like).
