Hi guys just wanted to start this thread so that everyone can see each others pedalboard. So here is mine pretty simple just a Boss ME-50 & i am going 2 buy myself a digitech hot head & some other pedals. So guyz start posting pics of your pedalboard. I dont have a photo of my board yet so just got some photos of the pedals off the net.

throwfirewoodatme wrote Nice, you enjoying them? I love the Turbo Tuner. The Chorus and Delay are used as tone wideners more than actual effects but they're indispensable for what they achieve.

The turbo tuner is awesome. Like you said the other 2 are nice to have, but I don't use them often. The way I have the MXR setup now, it almost gets an organ type effect (long sustaining notes). The Nova is also just set for a subtle colouring of the tone, sounds rather nice on leads ?

Sounds like we're doing a very similar thing then! The delay is set for a single dark slap back. Analog setting, significant modulation. The Chorus is hi passing the lower three strings and jjuuuuuuusssssttt adding shimmer to the top, you can hardly tell it's there.

I believe the correct term for that is called "Good tone"

Question....

Its really great to have a big collection of pedals on a board. But, how many of you can truly say that you use your complete setup? I ended up selling all my pedals and got myself a simple effects setup. And I have to say it works much better for me. I ended up being more contempt with my boss TU3, DD7, Wylde Cry Baby and my stock overdrive channel on Fender Hot Rod amp.
I know for some a big setup works better. But, I believe some also enjoy a simple setup too.

I do. In fact, it often run out of power for the things I want to do.

Of course. That's it in a nutshell. I still enjoy guitar - cable - amp and work hard to try keep that feel for most of what I do with the more complex stuff.

It all depends on what you do hey...
With my current "band" setup I only really need my tuner, a delay and distortion... I can't run my amp at the volume I "need"/like to to get the sound I want out of it, so I have a distortion/drive pedal on my board... meaning...I have a very simple board also. But I have run multi effects in the past in a different context where I needed some more "whacky" type stuff at my disposal (I would now try go all stomps to achieve the same sounds, meaning it would be a bigger, more complex board)...

Horses for courses, hey.

If I was in a purely blues-based band I'd have a muuuuch simpler rig. Likewise (I suspect) if I was in a band doing original stuff: I always feel in that setting you want to find "your sound" and have some fairly minor variations to it.

BUT I play in a covers band, and I like to get pretty close to the sound of the original, at least from a drive/gain point of view: basically I want the guitar to respond in the same kind of way dynamically (ie if I hit a power chord or a note, will it "stay hit" or degenerate in the same way as the original). So I need a lot of drive options, and I've learnt that programmed stuff doesn't really work for me (I'm not being a snob, I just am not organised enough). So I have a fuzz, a light drive, and two heavier drives (one more "70s-ish", one 80s-ier), as well as my amp's dirty channel. Aaaand then I use a boost pedal (paradoxically) in front of the drives to give me a touch more grit/volume on any given sound.

Other than than my rig is simple: compressor, analog chorus, DD3 for delay and I've just got an M5 for occasional oddities. But I have a big board because of all those drive options.

It's a love/hate thing. Part of me wishes I could just plug straight in, but I know it wouldn't work for me except on a limited basis. And as ridiculous as it becomes, I love pedals and pedalboards.

We are addicts, people.

Ah.... Thats very similar to my my setup as well , except I use a loop switcher for me to easily manage all the drives and boost before , during and after my solos ... 8)

Just got me one too! Rebuilding the board to accommodate it.

Big-G

So over the past few months I've been accumulating a number of pedals from various sources, and thought it was about time I shared them with you good people. As of yet they are not strictly a 'pedal board', as there is no board for them to be mounted on, but that I will be looking to rectify soon. On that day, I'll have the fun of organising this lot.....

From top left clockwise.... Marshall 'Ed the Compressor'; Vox Cooltron 'Big Ben' OD; Vox DelayLab; Voodoo Labs Analog Chorus; Lovepedal 'Eternity Burst' OD; MXR Zakk Wylde OD; Markbass Tube Marker Distortion; Tech21 Boost DLA Delay;

Awaiting for the arrival of my new guitar, before I decide whats gonna go where and how! More pics to follow in the weeks ahead as I get them organised.

Regards
G!

you lucky bugger...
that delaylab is awesome...

Thanks bud....

I hope this is not seen as 'promoting' the product, so mods feel free to edit if it is, but one big surprise with the DelayLab is the inclusion of a kind of digitech whammy - two octave up - type sound, for which I've been looking for, so that was a nice unexpected bonus upon arrival!

With regards to the rest of the pedals, I'm still trying to work out whats going to work well where etc, but I'll get there I guess. One day. May not be for a while yet though, as we are moving house in 6 weeks! Lots to do!

Regards
G!

The most posted board on here is back! :?

From Benj at Craigamps:
Craigamps Tru-Pass 3 True Bypass looper (replaces a Road Rage Dual Looper)
Craigamps Mini Strymon Favorite Switch (bottom right with the cool flame finish)
Craigamps Mini Volume Pedal (with the even cooler Black Hole Sun finish) - for knocking the volume back with my foot when using my Ebow (no space for a volume pedal)

Benj built these all on a custom basis for me. He exceeded my expectations. The paint jobs were all cool surprises (I was expecting blank boxes) and seemed a lot of (appreciated) extra effort that belied his incredibly reasonable prices. Thanks Benj!

Also swapped in:
TC Polytune Mini - a cool gift from a good mate (thanks Lee!)
VOX Ice 9 - Back on the board. Having recorded a large part of an album with this pedal, I found I needed it on the board to get those tones live again.

Your guitars don't have volume controls? ? ?

Mr-M

Alan Ratcliffe wrote Your guitars don't have volume controls? ? ?

The loudest sound your guitar is ever likely to make is what an Ebow does all the time. It's loud! Also, I never play without some form of gain happening (clean is rolling back on my guitar volume). Thusly, rolling back guitar volume with the Ebow means that I don't have much control over the actual volume that's happening. Hence a volume pedal is for most people essential who use an Ebow (most sources recommend one for Ebow use). I've made do without for the last 5 years, but no longer. ?

My board (and the purists retch ?)

Some don't like multi effects but I believe that they have their place. There's no one-size-fits-all solution though, thus my setup. The Zoom, Line 6 and Digitech each have things that they are great at doing, but they also all suck at other things.

I reckon whatever gives you "YOUR" sound is what you should be using... if that's a boutique hand wound rare cap amp manufactured in 1960 by Jim Marshall himself, in his bedroom as a side project before he "made it" then so be it... if it's an array of effects and stuff... so be it... people become well known for their "sound"... hell... you get an "edge" patch for the GT8...

How is the G3? I was looking at getting a G5 earlier this year. mainly for recording but also, it doesn't hurt to have 120 different effects available at any time ?

Latest floor setup:

Upgraded the left KD-8 kick trigger to another KD9 - better feel and a smaller footprint.
Mounted the TD-9 drum brain onto the right hand pedal. [TMI alert] I also discovered that if the two pedals are too close, I do damage to my trouser furniture[/TMI alert] Must still tie the two pedals together to prevent creep.
The GR-55 and G-Sys have swapped sides so I can use the control pedal on the GR-55 for sustain or to bring in/take out instrumentation, without losing the kick drum
Added in a Radial PROD2 passive DI (on the floor, between the kicks) to balance the output of the TD-9 and bring the output down to mic level, so I can use some the Liquid preamps on my Focusrite to liven it up a bit - works really well
