Hey Giggsy
Currently have a Boss GT-10 and a ME50. I really like the G3 and since the firmware upgrade which allows you to use 6 fx at the same time(depending on DSP limit) it has become way more useful. I like the amp sims better than the GT-10, they sound better me and i've always had a love hate thing with the GT. The modulations and delays are quite good too, and the reverbs I love. The only drawback of the G3 are the pitch fx. The tracking isn't as good as the GT. However, I do still use the octave fx to make a bass track will making a loop. Also use the acoustic sim for making loops.
The other aspects of the G3 I like is that if my amp fails at a gig I have a balanced line out to go direct to PA from the G3 and can just use amp sims and delays etc from the G3. And when I play in church I only take the G3, also use it with acoustic at church with some reverb and chorus etc.
I would recommend getting the G3X though. The added benefit of the foot controller would be awesome, thats depending on pedalboard space.
I am currently waiting for the new Zoom MS100BT to come into SA. Has all the benefits of the G3 but in a single stompbox format with 100 fx onboard, with the ability to purchase extra pedals and download them to the pedal. Similar to the Digitech iStomp. Except the MS100BT can have 6 fx at once where the iStomp can only have one at a time. And whatever you purchase and load onto it stays there Apparently there is a very good KLON Centaur sim you can buy for the MS100BT. Another difference between the iStomp is that with the MS100BT you transmit the pedal you buy via Bluetooth, and not a cable like with the iStomp.
Finally got around to the reshuffle of my board. Been threatening to do it for a while. Took out the EQ and comp, and added a phaser and a Tech21 Liverpool clone, a Joyo AC Tone. Using the AC Tone as a second channel, slightly dirtier, for my amp which only has one channel.
So for the long post.
