Your Pedalboard!!!

Hi guys just wanted to start this thread so that everyone can see each others pedalboard. So here is mine pretty simple just a Boss ME-50 & i am going 2 buy myself a digitech hot head & some other pedals. So guyz start posting pics of your pedalboard. I dont have a photo of my board yet so just got some photos of the pedals off the net.

Yeah - I got it directly from Sean. With shipping and VAT it came out about R1,500. And yes, it is very fat, organic and amplike.

@Alan Ratcliffe: How do you wire/setup your GT-8 so that it doesn't suck all the tone out of your clean sound?

Usually it's only handling my piezo pickups, so not really an issue as I don't use the amp or speaker modelling (occasionally the full range amp w/o speaker modelling) and outputs go direct to desk.

Having said that, it is possible to get usable electric guitar tones from the GT-8 direct into the PA (don't use factory presets, write patches for each specific guitar and keep them as simple as possible, don't use the "original speaker" and spend time with the amp, speaker and mic settings). The tones are far from being authentic, but are tweakable enough to get them to sit "just so" in a complex mix.

If you have an amp with a loop, using the four cable method gives you the best of both worlds - real amp and speaker tones and a slew of mostly good FX with excellent routing options.

I am currently experimenting with letting the GR-55 handle both the piezos and the synth stuff and the GT-8 the electric guitar. To be honest, the GT is quite a step down from the Twin tonally, but has the advantage of much easier balance control in a live setting. I'll probably end up updating the GT-8 before going completely DI. Probably with a POD HD500...

Thanks. I've heard of the 4 cable method, but didn't manage to get it working when I last tried. I currently connect guitar to input, and output goes into my Marshal Haze 40's return (and not the input) so I'm not getting my amp's actual tone.

I really just use it for 2 different distortions, delay, wah and chorus. Do you think it would be worth selling to pick up individual pedals instead?

This thread might help:
http://www.guitarforum.co.za/effects/multi-effects-processors-a-logical-approach-to-getting-great-results/

Note that with the 4 cable method, the preamp stage of your amplifier is actually sitting within the effects loop of the GT-8, so to get any sembalance of your amp's tone coming through, you need to have the gt-8's effects loop switched on. If it is off, you're sending all the signal into the Return of your amplifiers effects loop, sending it straight to the power amp of your amplifier, thereby bypassing your amp's preamp, which where most of your amp's characteristic tone comes from.

Hope this helps.

This is not ALL my pedals...

But this is what I was messing around with today, (in my study break of course)
There ARE 4 secret pedals that are not part of this shot... All in good time good people...
3 of those are EPIC.... AS in WOAAAH and excluded for the final shoot, in +- month.
Having sold off quite a bit in the last few months too this is what I am left with sadly ?
keeping it simple and narrowing down...
Those that have made the cut, will live long on into my life, as I have kinda searched the earth for the best of the best in my rig.. 3 years... tried and tested as much as possible.

cell phone picture, forgive me, but its more a shot of my current 'build' and "progress" report.

Final build hopefully in the next month... pretty excited to finish too...

The only one here that might get the cut is the Polytune, Only because I want a Peterson, as all my other tuners. I just love the 'sweeteners' And I want it here too.. Otherwise I love the Polytune. No hassels and perfect all the time...

killafo

Well this is me.....for now....

signal path:
Korg-->EQ-->DLS--->BB-->Wah-->Delay

i tried the EQ at the end and it was way too FAT sounding, i like the way it sounds right now, but any suggestions are welcomed, ?

Forum rules just amended to say:
- You're not allowed to mention "EPIC" gear except by name
- In cases of "EPIC.... AS in WOAAAH", photos are mandatory...

Looking freakin noice Brent! What patch cables are those? I seriously have to upgrade mine?

Danny-B

They're George L's, with very pret multicoloured sleeves ? Brent, what's the big expression pedal in the middle? I though it might be volume but then I saw that it takes power...

Getting a new pedal on my board tomorrow, very excited! Will post a pic, the board has changed quite a bit since the last pic in December.

Alan I cant spoil the suprise... I really just need to wait for the looper to arrive, currently on the waiting list at this1smyne for about 12 weeks now... Should arrive soon, got about R2k worth of George L's waiting to be wired up with the last 4 pedals... hahaha and then should be done...
They are goodies I must say..

Oh and both my new amps are officially on the way.. should be here in a week or so. ? ? ?

Jacquesg4j wrote Looking freakin noice Brent! What patch cables are those? I seriously have to upgrade mine?

Sweet. As Danny says, Yeah the George Ls ? Great cables. Going to be redoing them all soon soon. You cant actually find George L connectors in SA, like hens teeth... I got so tired of 'waiting' for them to arrive, I just bought about 40 of them! ? I have more stock than the shops I think.

That Danny is a Volume Pedal... but not just any volume pedal ?
