Thats not a pedalnoard, thats just bad tone

Actually the Behringer FCB is a pretty good control board for the likes of GT Pro etc.
The FCB per se doesn't do anything to your tone.
Mika, your fascism is starting to surface again...i'll be very surprised if your surname turns out to be Suhr, Bogner, Egnater, Marshall or some such.

Wow I made that comment long ago.... I stand by it though, Behringer V Amp, you are not going to tell me thats a good sound, the FCB1010 I cant expect to much of....

8) Then you're sorted for tone.

Be that as it may Mika, my point is that not everyone can afford quality gear. Sure, the Behringer V Amp isn't the bees knees but it's not a bad start if you're just getting started on playing guitar. The FCB is just a control board, it doesn't do anything of it's own.

Mike Fender has a nice ring to it ?

MIKA-the-better-one

I know a V Amp is not a bad start, I had one about 3 years back, so I know....... But from day 1 with it, I sold it and bought somehting else.
Mika Fender, if you make it one word, Mikafender, thats a cool feel ?

? Pleasure man. With that surname, you'll make it sooner than you think.

Here's my newly completed DIY pedalboard.

Before

After

The little black box top left is an MXR microamp clone that I made last weekend. Still need to install the 9volt jack and a proper switch for it but it weks ?
Power supply is stuck to the bottom of the board.

I also want to do something about the power daisy chaining. I'd like to get some angled jack and drill holes in the board to put them through. That way I should be able to have two full rows of pedals on the board if I want, and it'll look neater.

Looks very cool man. Well done in getting that micro amp working.

It's nice to get the cables out of the way, but isn't the flipside that if all the cables are on the board you can just lay the thing flat on the ground?

That would be the case if the board was just a flat plank. In this case I have ramps on the sides, lifting the front of the board up, as well as rubber feet on the corners, so the power supply and whatever cables I have underneath doesn't touch the floor.

Here is my work in progress, finally got some decent sized velco.

Still need a few cables to complete the connection but they all work perfect together now ? No more loss of tone or noise. Will probably move the delay, phaser and flanger to the bottom as those will be switched more frequently. Need to finish it on the weekend, been taking far too long.

With that many non true bypass pedals in line you're bound to be loosing tone. I noticed that once you have more than 3 or 4 inline, the affect starts to compound. You might want to consider a true bypass looper. You should give the guys at Turnkey a call. They can make up some good quality patches for you. I noticed a big improvement in tone when I upgraded my cables and patches.

What is the pedal under the Dime in the pic? cant make it out on the pic..

Id be interested to hear some clips to see how all this fits together if you can at all Cereal

I thought so to, but you would see the Red or Green knobs if that where the case.

CerealKILLA

Sorry for the unclear pic, it is a Boss NS-2 on the bottom right.

My bad!! Looked like some weird signal path! What is your signal path?

The latest Version of my pedal board in the ongoing quest for tone. You've got to love old gear! Picture looks a bit distorted. I'm really happy with the tonebone trimode, nice and versatile. The top layer of effects go straight into the effects loop while the others go straight into the front of the amp. If I use an amp without an effects loop I take a patch cable staright from the tonebone into the phaser and put of the ad9 into the front of the amp. Works for me! I am using kirlin jacks and cable for the patch cables.Cheers
Andy
