rikus And they're in! Played around with different configurations for a bit, but I ended up liking both new tubes in there. I swapped the Electro Harmonix 6v6 with a Tung Sol 6v6 and a Matsushita 12ax7 with a JJ 12ax7 (I've yet to try in 5751). The bass was noticeably less boomy with the Tung Sol and the overdrive seems smoother (I say seems because I'm not sure whether I'm actually hearing the smoothness or whether it's just the reviews talking). All in all I'm well chuffed. I'm getting some lovely bluesy sounds (and the 6v6 has a very beautiful blue glow too ? ). Thanks again for the effort Graeme!
FenderBender Great man! Remember that tubes will only achieve their full tonal characteristics after being burned in for a while, so rolling them now won't give you the full picture.
