I am no spelling hound, I make spelling mistakes myself, but if you spell the same word differently 3 times in one sentence, I believe its more a case of you being too lazy / "can't be arsed" to actually try and spell it correctly.

Also, being lazy is just not a good enough excuse for me, why should I spend the extra time trying to decipher some text that you were too lazy to make understandable in the first place? That is sort of selfish, you can't be arsed to make your posts understandable, but you expect us to spend the extra time to try and make sense of it? Surely if you value your opinion on a matter you would want people to read it and take it seriously?

Easy tiger. She's saying that Lady Gaga's no genius as an artist. Do you really disagree? And what is solid that a person can base these opinions on? These are not truth statements like, "The Parlotones wear make-up." These are artistic judgements that rest on our conception of where these musicians fit into politics, fashion, philosophy - very hard things to say anything about that you can actually prove

oh just on the lady ga ga topic..................i think Lady gaga is "genius" she has hit after hit on charts...... made a career for herself in a cut throat biz that many can't even get a toe in the door even tho they'd love to be in her stillettos' ..............

and just as a reference to her personal talent for those of you that don't know she is also a talented jazz singer .....my jazz vocalist who is a vocal lecturer said she saw some video and thought i to be top drawer from a jazz perspective ....... so like with most musicians many layers of talent lay hidden that we don't see cos only one side is highlighted . just like jimi hendrix actually grew up playing jazz with his dad and his muso friends.and towards the end of his career was experimenting with jazz . but we remember him as a rock icon ..............

so yeah making it happen is tough and there's lots of young sexy woman with cool voices all fighting to get where she is but she obviously had the edge to crack it like she did..........

My reference to a door to door sales man implied that she/ record company employ very well researched sales techniques to take advantage of their client, is that genius, yes, is it nice, no.

The reason I dislike her more than I would have if I had just heard her music is that I had the misfortune of seeing her in an interview. Not only did she seem incredibly stupid and falsely modest, but she had NO SENSE OF HUMOR. Unforgivable, and that turned her into a plain boring attention junkie in my eyes.

And this will hurt me more than it hurts you, but I will extend my opinion further and say that using what she had learned from when she was a go go dancer to dazzle power hungry pre-teens is not my idea of art. It has turned out to be a lot more lucrative though, considering they're only slightly more stupid and vulnerable than horny men and it's more socially acceptable.

As for playing 4 instruments?....Is that all? I can play more than that.

All of the above would have been fine by me if she could have shown the slightest bit of good humor.

Seriously. I have to agree that that's just plain disrespectful for no good reason. GFSA isn't exactly my whole world, but I still proof-read the stuff I write. Sometimes I even go back and modify after posting to remove some appalling error. If I've got something to say, and I hope people will take something away from it, the onus is on me to present my case, not on the reader to decipher my unique code.

You've always got great, interesting opinions that liven the place up, but it's damn annoying that you think we must put in the work that you neglected to do.

No reasonable person minds a few spelling or grammatical errors because you overlooked them, or because English is not your first language, or because you have no idea that you've made an error. But just not bothering?

Spelling and grammar - Some posters drive me to distraction, but please understand that it's not everyone's forte and anyway, this is not the grammar and spelling forum. If you pick on Mika for it, then you'd have to pick on Keira for her lack of capitalisation and overuse of the ellipsis, then someone else, then someone else... Eventually no-one will want to post for fear of making an error. Also remember that English is not the first language of many of our members (and Mika is American ?).

Having said that...

@Mika - get Firefox with the British dictionary and it'll check spelling as you type. Easy and quick and after adding names and product names to the dictionary for a few days, you'll find it helps a lot. And Bob is right that it will help you get your arguments across.

I have never been subjected to Lady Gaga or her music so I have no comment to make in that arena. As for spelling I am dyslexic insomniac atheist, so when I am not laying awake at night wondering if there is a Dog or not, I thank humanity for the spell checker built into Firefox.

No really, I cant be bothered sometimes, and ontop of that, this is a mix of my normal english and SMS talk...... its sadly had a great effect on me.....
For all of you who are so disturbed by my lack of respect for your reading..... I shall type slower....

But as mentioned I come in I see a whole bunch of angry posts, I write very fast with my brain 3 steps ahead thinking about what i shall say on the other post. And that is how little baby spelling mistakes are born.... perhaps we shall post a thread about it!!!
