I was curious and asked the SA dealer (easternacoustics) for a price list of the various amps.

He said these prices do fluctuate but this is a good guide for anyone who might be interested.

Junior NR Combo export -R16 786
EZG 50 Head Export -R20 145
Z-Best 2 x 12 Cab -R8 725
Jaz 20/40 Export Combo -R24 625
Prescription Head Export -R18 465
2 x 12 Ext Cab -R7 605
Z-Verb Export -R7 975
Brake Lite -R1 895

(all are ex vat)

Thanks for the intel. Doesn't look too bad compared to the Dr. Z web site when adding up shipping and customs.

Any ideas what the Carmen Ghia head or 2x10 combo goes for ? Aircooled VW's are my other past time. Told the missus I was buying one the other day and she was cool with it. Imagine her surprise when it turns out NOT to be one of these:

Strange that there is no price for the Ghia, which is the one amp I think some of us would have an interest in.
I played the Jaz 20/40 they had at music connection WOW

I actually asked them about the mini Z and the Carmen Ghia, they mentioned it would be a special order, they gave me an estimate price only...

Then I stumbled upon another magical amp, so I don't need a Dr Z anymore :-[

okay, I'll bite ? what's the other magical amp? ?
He bought my Vox AC15 Hand Wired. ? Worked out well for me too as it financed the Weber speakers for my Twin, which are just what I was chasing. I have also lost my Ghia GAS.

But seriously, the Ghia is the only one in the range that is not based on something else - it's a unique amp and very toneful.

Hmm, I was wondering who snapped that up. Took me a few weeks to get over it ? However, unlike Brent, my level of playing would not have justified it...but like I said, one day 8)

ah none of that! good amps and good guitars inspire you to play better! none of that justification needed..

I WAS going to get a Dr Z... but when the Vox came up, I snatched it up, and I am glad I did, it is so magical to my ears and I enjoy it so much. I dont even want a Swart AST anytime soon either....

It was a cure for GAS... really ?

I hope it's only cured your gas temporarily ? you know, maybe two/three years from now you'll be wanting something with a little extra ? ... and well...you know ? hahahaha, anyway, glad you're enjoying it.
