  • 10 Things you gotta do to play like Joe Satriani

? i was all pre empting my response to this thread with negative comments on trying to be a clone of another guitarist ............ but read the 10 points and found it's a blueprint for anyone to develop their own style too......... which is awesome advice to many, and i loved the article ..... and yes it's great to see how satriani or anyone else can challenge the norm to create their own style.......... so not what i was expecting at all...and a refreshing look at creating a style

so yeah i found it an inspiring article and worth the time taken to read +1
+1 with Keira. A very nice article that aims at developing a unique style as opposed to copping licks.
I generally enjoy most of the GP "10 things you gotta do to play like" articles.
You should check out the Andy Summers one. Just brilliant!
      I was expecting something like:

        That's Les Paul
Nice article. I just skimmed it, but what I read was good.
I am already cutting my hair like Satch's that's how badly I want to sound like him.

Dude. Time, and unfortunate genes, will do that for you ?

Those ten things you gotta do articles are often great. Wish I put in the time with them though. Especially the Les Paul one (it was slightly more detailed Bob ? ) and the Randy Rhoads one.

I don't like Satriani's style, but he's a fantastically knowledgeable, and technically accomplished player. And added to that, he's very humble. For somebody who's so much to so many, he's still always the patient teacher, who seems more interested in the student than his own achievements.
