Hmmm,
Ok, I agree the amp sim is cool, but the devil is in the detail, listen to the Vibroking clip again with a good HiFi or Headphones, listen to firstly the room around the amp, this is something that amp sims still can't right, the speaker placement on a mic'd up cab with the nuances of the room, each room will sound different and far mroe detailed than a reveb plugin.
then the breakup, listen to the amp sim, even when breaking up it sounds cold/lifeless, when you hear the amp it is compressed/warm and ragged around the edges, which is missing, to my ears from the plugin.
Now can you justify the price difference, maybe not, but the playing experience is VERY different, one would adapt to the sound of the physical amp and play into though nuances, which is hard to do on an amp sim.
Again, I agree it is nice approximation and I'm going to be getting one, but for studio I still love the sound of an amp pushing air into a mic.
Cheers
Matt
