Locked out - blacklisted

When trying to access GFSA via my I-burst account I get this message "You don't have permission to access / on this server because you are currently blacklisted by a DNSBL server at: httpbl.abuse.ch" I assume that this is some black list of hackers or other naughty folk that GFSA check against. The trouble is that it seems to be keeping the whole of I-Burst out right now. Well that's according to I-Burst, who also tell me that the whole .co.za domain has been blacklisted since Wednesday (which explains how I was able to get into GFSA as recently as yesterday morning). I am posting this message via an anonymous proxy service. I haven't tried Vodacom 3G to see if that is blacklisted, but I notice that posts are appearing here so clearly it is NOT the entire .co.za domain that has this problem.

I think it has more to do with malicous varmints who were either hacking or trying to set up a 'bot.

I think the problem with all blacklist services is that every ISP occasionally gets a newbie who thinks that sending out a thousand emails is the ideal way to market his small business or gets a virus that sends out spam. I've even had newsletter subscribers complain that a newsletter they have subscribed to is spam. Then the ISP gets their IP range blacklisted and it causes trouble for other users with the same ISP.

I suspect this to be the reason i cannot get to the site via work connection and only thru 3 G connection.

maintenance scheduled as ongoing right now ....

i reckon ppl going via certain ISP's are prolly affected by this.

There is definite wierdness going on.

Via I-Burst I get in, but it's slow.

Over 3G no problems.

From work (IS) I get zero-sized reply warnings from the proxies. BUT if I connect via vtunnel (a blacklist busting proxy) I can get most forum functionality (though not the drop-down menus, which is a pain). To get to vtunnel I must go through the same DNS, same international connections and that works. Going direct does not.

No problems via 3G(On my Phone) , Neotel(at home) and at work we use IS as well and GFSA is very lekker!!!!
