Hey esteemed leaders, when I have the misfortune of mousing over the new FNB ad on the site it pops open obscuring a large percentage of the page... cool, if there was a way of getting rid of it again ? No close button or any other way to kill it down to banner size... using OS X with Firefox. I do click through the ads to boost GFSA but this is too much my friends, too much!

I feel that's is kind of taking advantage of us - They pay for one size ad, but use a sneaky method to get more adspace (and mess with the usability of our site in the process).

Too right. I can't believe that this ad is sanctioned by the ad agency - the brand custodians. Looks more like a techno geek has sold the concept into the bottom end of the marketing department. If it is the agency, then they should be shot - it does nothing for the brand. The same goes for the Johnny Walker ad.Alan Ratcliffe wrote: Duly noted, Jack, Duly noted. Will take it up with Norio.

A further problem is that the banners don't always display in the same place. Even if they are not the kind that resize themselves they sometimes hover over the table of contents and can't be budged.Norio wrote: Absolutely agree, guys, will take it up with AdGator.
I swear I mentioned these stretchy things once before and noone said anything so I thought that maybe I'm the only oke getting them or maybe I'm just getting old and moerig so I said nothing further. Now I see everyone is the moerin with it. I'm sort of relieved but you got to see the humour here as well. Everyone just getting this and cussing and finally one oke looks to the heavens and screams "ENUFF!! I've got to say something!". And then it all comes pouring out just like in group therapy, hey.

The person that created the FNB add obviously has a big wife to carry around.
That my friends are the reason behind the BIG stretchy add ?

Can you collect some screenshots of this over time and, once you have like 3 or so, post them here? Also please include browser name and version and OS name and version. Sounds like a specific use-case scenario rather than something that happens across the board.X-rated Bob wrote: A further problem is that the banners don't always display in the same place. Thanks!
It's sorted ? Thanks for letting us know about the problem!
It has been deactivated off your site.

Yesterday and again today I got this...

This is with Firefox 3.6.3 running on XP Service pack 3.
I see this from time to time on both the computers I use for accessing GFSA. And ONLY with the Liquid Design ad.

Weird one Bob! And refreshing doesn't fix it?
Usually a refresh does fix the problem.Norio wrote: Weird one Bob! And refreshing doesn't fix it?
And you know, every now and then I get NO advert at all. THere's a space where it should be, but no advert shows in that space.
If a refresh fixes it, then it can't be something related to the site or ad code itself. I would suggest something in-between. (Firefox add-on? ISP proxy? Dunno to be honest!)
Ja I also get no advert but that mainly happens in Chrome.
In short, I think your PC is haunted Bob ?

I had pretty much the same experience afew times, however, as soon as I move the mouse pointer off or to the side of the banner ad, it just settles itself.
But if you say it's sorted Norio, that's good, I would hate Liquid Design banners to be annoying.........hahahahaha..... ?

By a Liquid Design banner ad??.......... ???Norio wrote: In short, I think your PC is haunted Bob ?
No add-ons. And it happens with 3 different proxies.Norio wrote: If a refresh fixes it, then it can't be something related to the site or ad code itself. I would suggest something in-between. (Firefox add-on? ISP proxy? Dunno to be honest!)
When I refresh there must be repeated calls to adgator or whatever it is that inserts the graphic.
However if it's just me then I have to consider that it's some weird form of PEBCAK. It's unlikely that two PCs would be similarly haunted.
