Hey guys and gals,

I'm considering selling my !976 Fender Jazz bass...It's not in perfect condition, but it has the original hardware and Dimarzio pickups.
I'm not sure what I should be asking for the guitar, so any input would be warmly appreciated!!

Feel free to ask anything you might wanna know about it and I'll try to answer!

The price will depends on whether it is in it's original state and playable fretwise. You mentioned DiMarzios - if you still have the original Fender pups it will help. A good starting point would be to check out Gumtree and see what Fenders sells for there. Also scan the net overseas for secondhand Fenders. Then place an add on Gumtree and see what comes up. Sometimes collectors will pay handsome prices for old Fenders.
I'll give you R2,000 for it.

Seriously. Do some checking on ebay and the like. 1970s Jazz Basses are highly sought after, despite being made in the CBS era.
Maybe give us a rough price here.

My old man is looking for a old Fender Bass.
          Hi There,

Like the other guys said, try Gumtree or ebay.com is the best place....I used to have a 70's precision in quite good condition (1978) and I paid £1,300 for it (Sterling U.K.) but sold it for £1950!

I would look on ebay also for some secondhand original J's as the DiMarzios will de-value it in a purists eyes.

          Good luck...
