Lineup includes Keira with vocalist Alicia The Cellphone Cowboys (this is Fingerpicker and some friends) The fab roots rock band Them Particles Jeff Dix X-Rated Bob So a strong GFSA presence there. Venue is the Pavilion at Marks Park Sports Club, Judith Road, Emmarentia (this is NOT the room where Steve Newman played recently). Time - music starts at 20:00 Admission - R20 Drinks and pub grub may be ordered from Marks Park.

Haha, if you've seen the way Bob goes about preparation for playing live, I'm sure those shoes were finely calculated to be the pair that is most conducive to delivering optimum performance.

Because TJs don't have total control of the venue they don't offer reservations. However I will be there about 19H00, maybe earlier. Squonk says he's getting there early because he wants to check out the pickup system in my guitars. I think between us we can plonk down a couple of "Reserved for Guitar Forum SA" signs and look fierce and scare people away (but not too far away).

As an added attraction my wife will be there and will demonstrate sock knitting to anybody who is interested in this rewarding craft - hand-made socks are amazingly comfortable to wear.

yeah looking forward to thursday ........ and it's a great lineup on the bill ....... as you know i'm sure the night is hosted and arranged by our very own highly talented guitarist "fingerpicker" and he sure has packed in the talent for this show...... and yeah i'm sure a table can be arranged...... just maybe indicate approx for how many and between us that will be there early we'll make a plan ..........

mmm some nice guitars on show that night i think...fingerpicker will surely have some of his extensive collection of top end larrivee's and bob should be bringing his larrivee/morgan / smoothtalker and i will have my "pawn shop" but vintage yamaha nylons there and there is even some lapguitar as far a i know......so some eye candy .........

Yep! Richard Bruyns will be playing lap steel with Them Particles. Your chance to check out a real live lap steeler, and a real unlive square-neck National Tricone.

I am tinkering with the idea of having just one guitar (gasp!) on hand. I may take 2 depending on my set list and the tunings involved, but one would be a lot less to lug around (50% less in fact :-[)

Just a reminder/notice. This event still takes place at Marks Park, but in The Pavilion. TJs do not always use the same room within the Marks Park complex. So if in doubt tell the guys at the security boom that you're going to TJs and ask them to point out the venue and the parking.

Fingerpicker

Slight change of plan. Howard, the other half of the Cellphone Cowboys can't make it due to work commitments. Paddy Rowlings will be replacing them.

The junkyard dawg (see photo at left) will feature in the first number of the evening (TJ's Boogie) which I always use to open the nights when I'm hosting.
