vai & ibanez design a geet competition

hi everybody

sir steve of vai and ibanez are offering a really great design a guitar contest. full details are on the official ibanez website. looks like a really great opportunity.

Yeah, it sounds cool. I managed to download the templates.
Will work on it in a bit.
I figure (being the shred happy type) nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The will be only one winner, and Ibanez will create two custom guitars with the selected design at the Ibanez Custom Shop. One guitar will go to the winner, and the other guitar will go to Steve Vai.

A bit limited in what you can really do. You can't change the shape or the headstock or the scratchplate so it's down to material, finishes and hardware from what I understand

Sounds cool, and I'll definitely enter, but I'm a bit dissapointed in the rigid rules. No messing with the monkey grip and pickguard....at least we get to do a fixed bridge design.

I downloaded my template and will start shortly on the design.
I think you need to make it graphically more sound that change allot of things on the guitar.

Remember Via will need to use it, and he is picky as hell! So try not to change to much of his signature configuration!

That is pretty damn amazing imo. i would defos take that ? He should have kept the inlays standard though imo. My friend was right, he said they are just going to mad artists entering this (I never had a chance :\)

Looking at all the finalists, I must admit that the winner is probably the nicest/ best.............even though I think the runner up one with the flames would have been a close second for me.............for obvious reasons..........hahahahaha........ ?

I did like some of the other designs a bit more (I liked that GuitarBentley guy) but i couldn't imagine them as an actual guitar for some reason, some of them were like cartoony.
