Are you saying other companies are offering slightly less in the way of straight-up cash, but more benefits, and you're weighing that up?
I have yet see a company that offers an apprentice any benefits. There will probably be, but your basic salary will be very low then. I will receive a bonus at the end of the year that is equal to a normal months pay, 13th cheque, and then they also offer performance based bonuses. They give you a target and if you can go 20% above that, you get rewarded. All in all the recruiter said you can receive an additional 3 pay cheques if you work hard.

If you can go onto your parents' medical aid, and pay them back your portion each month, that's better than arranging it alone, but it sounds like you might be able to afford that anyway.
I'll speak to my dad about it, but I doubt it. I remembered him saying he had to submit proof of registration from the university to confirm that I'm a student. For all practical reasons I am still a student, part time, but still a student so we might find a loophole.

My gut feel is just get the 3 years behind your name. No-one is of much use with no practical experience under their belts.
There is very little places to start working without at least 3years experience, so this is a good opportunity.

Leave is a big thing in the corporate world.
Try and negotiate for the most leave you can get. ?
I get 3weeks leave during the December/January holidays and then a week during the year.

If the company pay, hurt their booze and food account.
LOL, they have a corporate suite at Loftus, the recruiter said the juniors will need to work behind the bar every now and again. Hope they tip well.
