  • Review: Andrew J Brysons's album Station B-12

I've been listening to this for a few days now, it is good stuff. It's smooth, melodic, sophisticated and excellently produced but with enough shred bite to hold my attention. The playing is damn fine, worryingly good actually ? but what I love most is the depth of the music, so many layers. This isn't lazy improv to a backing loop like certain famous shredders out there (ahem.)

Often when I'm driving in the car a phrase will catch my attention making me go "woah - who is this again?" only to realize it's one of our own rather than somebody with an Ibanez guitar model named after them. It's really that good. And since it's less than the price of two pizzas, I am now employing my Force mind powers - see how I'm scrunching up my face in concentration? That means everyone has to do
what I say - to make everyone buy it immediately online:

BMU what is your favourite track?

I've been enjoying Polar Threat. Particularly for the rythym guitar tone in the beginning.

The tones are just so good throughout. Let's see, that's track 3...yeah I love that one. I'd say track 1-4, 8 and 9 all rotate the favourites position, all the rocking ones. Celtic Fire (#9) is the one most likely to make me fistbang with a stupid grin.

Err...actually #5 is playing now (10 Zen), that tapping section early on...damn....guess that's a favourite too HAHA.
I have been listening to it in my car for weeks. I just have the numbers to the pieces on my HDD so I won't be able to comment on my favourites yet. Will check the names tonight.

I really dig Celtic Fire (maybe its just me, but its got a slower Joe Satch Summer Song feel to it).

And 10 Zen is brilliant! Its like Kotzen meets Friedman.

          Kudos Andrew
Hey thanks BMU, Arjun , Don and Conrad for listening to my tracks.

Thanks to Guy Onraet for the idea of making an album, lol, which I probably wouldn't have thought of.

I still have 70 or so copies of Station B12 , if anybody wants one, send me a PM,

            Cheers

Make that 69, I just got me one! ? Wow, I'm so super impressed. Really amazing tone and feel. Feel like I'm listening to a Satch/Eric Johnson album.. ? Really enjoying it, only listened to a couple tracks, but wow, definitely great stuff! ?
