So, after playing the guitar fo a while I decided to get the pickups a guitar of this quality deserves. I got the PAF-MK2 pickups used in the higher-end Japanese models. WOW, a huge difference and it makes the guitar come alive. Sounds just so much better than the standard pickups. That "muddyness" is gone and it sounds crisp and clear. There is also now a bigger difference between the neck and bridge pups and makes it more versatile.

MMMh these Tokai's tickle my fancy every time i tickle their strings... one day in future! Very nice guitar mate, do her well, do her well!
Pick choice... I think it's just personal taste, i prefer nice thick 2mm Dunlop on electric for strumming or picking, gives a cleaner clearer sound i.m.o! Don't have an opinion on the hollow body tho...
