My server went down this morning at around 10:18. It seems there was some content scraping going on and then a script of mine that's supposed to warn me of these things went berserk and took the server down.
All is right in the world now but I'll have to look into a new method of notifying myself if there's some abuse happening on my domains.

Server down again. I've made the decision to switch to a "managed" server in Germany. That way, I can moan at someone else if something goes wrong.
This morning the issue was two-fold:
1. I mis-configured something the day before and, when Apache was restarted at around 2am in the morning, it didn't come back up again. This was fixed at around 08h45, using my cool Android phone, while I was sitting on the loo - hehehehe ?
2. Badly configured Apache meant that the sudden surge of traffic at around 12am brought the server to its knees. This was fixed between 14h30 and 14h50.
But, at the end of the day, I'm a coder not a server-admin. I've found a solution that will cost me about the same price but for WAY more goodies. There will be a day or so of down time but, after that, I expect around 99.9% up time ?
