That's what happens when Timbaland produces rock. Although, I'm sure Chris Cornell is just as much responsible for the end result.3ight8all wrote: I was listening to the radio this morning and they played Chris Cornell - Part of Me. Boy!! what a crap song. That guy has gone from Soundgarden/Audioslave which I consider to be world class Alternative/Grunge bands, to a wannabe Justin Timberlake type of pop star. What a waste.

Chris Cornell
chris cornell died a year or so back when he met timbaland....... scum. But apparently yes he has risen from the dead, perhaps he shall redeem his sins
Saw Audioslave at a smallish venue in New York... they rocked but Chris was at his best when he had Kim Thayil by his side, no doubt. I avoid all his solo stuff.
Never been a fan of his, but even less so now
Geez guys. So he wanted a change of style (or his record company did) or a mega-hit album. It might not be any of our cups of tea, but it's not a hanging offence. Let's get some perspective here.
Soundgarden was brilliant, Audioslave notsomuch. Not a fan of his, everyone raves about his voice, I dont really get it though.
his early solo stuff was great, Euphoria morning..... Il ya tres magnificent
I'm so glad someone finally said it. I was a Soundgarden disciple but it's like he totally diluted himself?!?!? I don't understand.3ight8all wrote: I was listening to the radio this morning and they played Chris Cornell - Part of Me. Boy!! what a crap song. Soundgarden stuff was killer! The new stuff is not so cool, but I can see that it will hit the intended target market!
Good for him if this is his new style (I will not buy the album)!

Totally agree. His first solo album especially was really magnificent. Scream is alright - it's not my style but perhaps he's just hitting some kind of musical mid-life crisis and trying to reinvent himself? Points for trying!MIKA the better one wrote: his early solo stuff was great, Euphoria morning..... Il ya tres magnificent
Soundgarden is one of my all-time favorite bands. They were a huge influence on me. I liked the first two Audioslave albums and exactly one of Chris Cornell's solo tunes - Sunshower. Other than that I think Cornell has lost it, especially since his work with Timbaland. It's not so much the change of direction that bothers me as much as it seems like he's selling out to be hip to a different crowd (the ones supposedly buying lots of music these days), at the same time pretty much abandoning his very loyal following.
