What intrigues me about musos is that there seem to be no age barriers. It is an amazing communication tool and provides a reason for people to talk to each other, asking for help, congratulating someone after a set etc. Someone who you would never otherwise speak to. yeah i'm enjoying my middle age ....46 next month and would not want to be young and foolish again i much prefer being older and twice as foolish ....... and of course i value the musical maturity that comes with the 25 years of being a professional musician....thats irreplacable

heheheh i often think back and wonder how i made a living from music at 25 heheheh fresh outa music school with such limited musical skills..... guess i was lucky

Amen to that. Why is it that people think there's only a certain age that's acceptable to do things. Liberties should increase with age.

35... lotsa grey hair in the beard makes me look 40. When I shave I look 30. When I play I sound 20. When I exercise I feel 70. When I dance I feel 16 but clubs make me feel 55. When I start the evening with a beer and tequila it's 22, the next day it's 92. 5Fm makes me feel 49 but SAFM makes me feel 21. My wife makes me feel 18 but the kids 78 ?
This morning I feel my age.

@ Jack I got the grey hair in the beard at 35 as well, and the bits of grey are starting to show on top . My daughter noticed for the first time on the weekend when we were in the pool, and she was shocked ?
I had to tell her that it's ok for men @ 46 to have a bit of grey in their hair.

I am with you with all the other stuff, I feel 21 when watching the cricket with my 8 year old son, but at least 60 after I have had to bowl a couple of overs.

I'm part of the younguns. 20 in less than a month. Feels a tad surreal. I'm sure I'll only feel 20 when I'm and think, dam I'm OLD ?

Good post Jack! Sums it up fairly nicely.

I found my first grey hair at 16. A Ratcliffe family trait - we're grey at 40 and white at 60. Fortunately the other traits are thick, wavy hair and a full head of it our whole lives.

I've actually never had a problem with aging, being male has many bonuses but looking more and more distinguished is right up there...

You Greys have it good! I started going bald in my late 20's... Luckily the Shaven head look is no longer just for army recruits and jailbirds. But still, losing hair on top before you've started to properly grow some on your chest is a bugger I tell you...

Interesting to see the age distribution now that we have a bigger sample. 20-29ers are double any other age category.
Any ideas why?

1) More comfortable with technology, with using the interweb for communication
2) People tend to get proper jobs, get married and generally settle down in the 20s. Then they have kids. Then they might start playing guitar again.

Interesting, but I agree 100% Bob.

I'm 28, got married 2 months ago and can already see that my guitar playing time is shrinking!
Also with my job and starting with studies again it makes it very difficult.

I need to fight with myself to play more and spend less time with the wife :?

Also, I recently installed a CCTV camera at my house, to try and solve a long standing mystery of the house alarm that always goes of whenever we leave. I suspected that someone climbs over the wall whenever we leave, so it's set to record on detecting motion. Only thing I've learned from it so far is that I'm going bald on the top of my head...

Many moons ago when the buffalo were still on the plains, you spoke of another thief. You spoke about the thief that came and took your eyes. The thief that made your arms longer. That was many moons ago when there were buffalo.
