Actually that's rather quick, (I mean from the time you bought it!)
It is quick, but cost me more in the end by using FedEx. Apparently there's something about a 42 inch limit on US postal services - they can't deliver to certain countries, of which we're one, if a package is larger than that. The shop offered to take off the neck so that the package is smaller, but then wouldn't have been able to send the hardcase along. The only other alternative was FedEx, which added $200 to the shipping... ☹
But please don't tell my wife...I'm barely getting away with this one because of the original total cost - around R8K - which now of course is around R1.4K more but she doesn't know that.
Time to confess some more...this guit is actually costing my WAY more than that. When I won the bid and paid - this was around 3 AM - I felt a pang guilt and paid some money into my wife's bank account. At breakfast I told her "I've put some money into your account, it's a present, go buy yourself something nice". An hour later I couldn't keep it to myself anymore, and said "Actually you're not the only one getting a present"...and so the truth came out. Of course she knew all along something was brewing, the way women always know things like that. I suspect that on my forehead, there was a neon sign that read "he bought another guitar".
Anyway, some of you might remember the issue of the promised leather couch, first mentioned on this forum about a year ago. Well, there's no way out of it this time. So add the price of a leather couch to this Strat...
