I'm watching a 1987 US standard Strat, in near mint condition with hard case. Original in all respects, as far as I know. Any idea what this guitar could sell for?

I would say R9000, max R10 000. so yeh in that regoin is fair, no higher, for a quick sale though R8000 would do the trick probably.

Thanks Mika yes, that's more or less what it will work out with shipping. I guess 80's strats don't yet have much vintage value?

Not yet, maybe say another 10 years, Sadly here in this countrey vintage value doesnt really aply like the USA. Small markeyt and all. There are som many more collectors overseas. I actually realy want to geta 88 strat (just cuz then I would have one the same age as me) random I know

Hey Aubs! You may be right...I've always wanted a Strat. A Les Paul also, but I don't know when and if I'll ever get there. We'll see how this turns out. Will let you guys know! GAS so early in the year... ?

:dance:....got it! Paid about R7K including shipping. With import duties (VAT only as far as I know), the total cost will be just over R8K. I reckon that's not bad for a very good condition 87 US Strat?

Confirmed again. Although someone we know once got heavily screwed because the guitar was in a fancy leather case and leather is duty-able (?), so ended up paying stiff leather (as it were) duties on the guitar.
