I aint bene playing long and in a sorta current makeshift band (til we get a drummer), we were friends before so it makes it easier ...they also knew i am crap ....anyway the learning curve gets nice an steep playing with other ppl ...also expectqations are set which one strives to achieve...

We are planning to gig in November. Will keep you updated. I am very lucky to have joined a band who have been practising a few months before I came along. But these guys have accepted me as part of the group and we are all going to the deep purple concert together.

Which is how it should be...The discipline pays off when you're on a strict timetable (like when you're in a studio etc).
It will also give you a professional edge, in that you get on stage and don't do lengthy sound checks or goof around before the start of your set.

So I have been offered to join a band and I have accepted. I will be the youngest there. And I am very nervous.

man age is nothing! I play in a church band where everyone is mid- late twenties, and have been playing for many years. we had to get a substitute drummer for the one practice and the guy we managed to get was about (not lying) 10 years YOUNGER! Grade 10 or something...

Let me tell you, that guy proved that age is nothing when it comes to music - he jammed better than most guys twice his age! - if you know your instrument and play with confidence (in that knowledge of knowing your instrument & music) you'll be fine!
