  • Electric with slotted headstock?

Does anybody know of any electric guitar with a slotted headstock? They may be a little annoying, but they're a great aesthetic feature so I'm surprised that no one makes an electric with that feature.
The Rickenbacker 12-strings are slotted for the octave strings only:

Keeps the headstock the same size as a normal one.

      Clever design! Wow ?
My guess is that the main reason for slotting the headstock on a classical is that it allows the peg to be supported top and bottom, so that construction can be light. Because of the higher load and therefore the smaller diameter pegs (posts), this is not feasible on a steel string so there is no reason to slot the headstock.

          Ahem:

What ahem, I didn't say it did not exist? I just tried to point out why they're rare... ☹
Edit: why do you ask a question and answer it yourself, dude? ?
Imo a slotted head stock on a lp body or a es335 body would look really sexy . really give it a vintage look .

Not an electric guitar in the answer. Godin has a jazz with slotted headstock and I think maybe 1 or 2 others.

It's an expense issue. Many builders of custom flat tops, and even some mass producers such as Martin will provide a slot head - for a fee. There is rather more work involved. A slot head can certainly take the strain of steel strings.

There are some folks that say that the slot head sounds better. This is to do with the angle at which the strings break over the nut (and possibly due to the vibration of the head).

                    That's what I was thinking. ?

@Alan - Now you're talking. What bass is that btw?
