Any goals? ambitions? 2010

Well specifically guitar related and not resolutions. I've been doing this guitar thing for nearly a year now and I plan that in this year I will: i) submit to the Forum compos (when I get a recording tool thing ie.) ii) get my cute little ass over to an open mic somewhere and gooi a toon or two. And yours?

I think mine would have to be:

Learn a exotic scale and apply it to metal
Start a band or join one I need to get out there and stop being a bed room warrior.
And maybe learn to sing.

Oh yes, and find someone nice and patient to jam with. Got a red dog at home, sort of a cross with something and other things, that wails most pitiful when I play harmonica. Just buggers off when I play guitar.

Practice more scales / chords / modes than songs.
Get slide technique good enough to play in front of other people.
Get playing live again - which means chasing up a contact who wants to get a blues unit together for gigs, for fun more than money.
Finish the Sheraton.
Upgrade the Les Paul.
Buy an LS95S, another Tele again & a Jaguar (if I'm doing that well business-wise).
Add some pedals & sound gear.

mmmmmm... well first up would be to make some cash... next one would be to buy another hot rod deluxe, and third would be to complete my songs... sigh

Mine are simple , learn to play the blues to such a point i feel i am getting my own voice . Oh and finish the 2 guitars on my bench .

4. Get a giging paying band together
5. Learn more about music
6. Get more excercise
7. Eat less junk food drink less beer (lose the baby)

@ Rene: Except for no's 3 and 4, that should have been my list also...

Apparently sitting on the swimming pool step with a beer for an hour or two doesn't count as excercise. And eating those bright orange candy apricots doesn't count as eating more fruit. And an Amstel doesn't contribute to more greens... It seems life gets a lot more complicated beyond 40....

hey guys i see that 'getting gigs" or playing live is the goal of quite a few. let me be encouraging and say go for it......... it's not hard to get gigs.... and the experience of playing live ...will catapult your development as a musician...... but and there's always a but ... heheheh before you do the gig make sure you ready for it......... and one way to do that is record your "show' performance and then listen back and if you would not like to sit in the audience and listen to it ...do some more work on it till it's at an acceptable standard........ but don't be discouraged. even pro's endlessly fine tune and rehearse shows........
