I'm so glad to find out that Flamenco players use altered tunings. I was starting to get a complex about it. Seemed like it was only those blues and folk guys who doing this - clearly to compensate for their shortcomings. Now I find out that proper musicians use altered tunings too.

Is there anything in the canon of "classical" guitar pieces that requires an altered tuning?
