I'm starting to get excited, this is going to be BIG BIG time, so big I think we're going to be surprised at the enormity of the event.
Charlize looked good as well, I dig her, she's cool, she's still so SAfrican, it's in her blood.
Unfortunately I think Bafana are going to fall short, but not to worry, IMO the World Cup is much bigger than what Bafana do or don't do.
It's huge for SAfrica irrespective of whether Bafana perform or not.
I still have my England scarf from the 1986 world Cup, can you believe it?
Through all the years it's somehow remained in my cupboard, I must have turfed 30 pairs of Levi's but the scarf still sits there in perfect condition. ?
Remember the quarter Finals, remember Maradona, I'll never forget that day...payback time has come.
I guess you know who I'm supporting come World Cup time...yep, David Beckham, Rooney and the lads are my pick to win the World Cup.
England have a great draw, they should cruise to the Quarters.
Thoughts?

Well, just that Oranje is going to win it. Who? Don't worry, you'll know when they're there...

I'm a hopeful. Ife Bafana can raise their game like they did in the confed cup they can make it through to the next round.
My predictions
France 1, SA 0...
SA 2, Uruguay 1
SA 1, Mexico 0
Gearhead
@ Donovan: snowball's hope in hell! ?

I don't think you can look past Spain on this one. They have an amazing team and being European champs they will be favored to win. I'll support the Germans though, young squad, but as almost all of them (except most notable Michael Ballack) play in the Bundesliga they play the same type of football. As for the Brazilians, if they could find a way to be creative together, instead of individual brilliance they could be very entertaining.

I'm a bit less optimistic
France 3 - 0 South Africa (atleast one goal by the hand uhm foot of Henry ? you'll never witness a bigger revolt)
Uruguay 1 - 1 South Africa
Mexico 2 - 1 South Africa

Geez Don, you are certainly patriotic!.. 8)
My prediction is that Bafana will go out after the first round, after losing 3-0 to Mexico.......and then to all the other teams in their group....
No, I'm not anti-Bafana, just realistic..... ? ... But then again, they did ok in the Confeds Cup,....so ??..let's hope!!!
I really don't care what happens in the other rounds.......Who will win the World Cup.........?
BRAZIL........
I must say that I think the USA is gonna surprise many.......perhaps even Brazil! They have the best mental preparation and sports psychologists money can buy, and that is a major plus!

Will be Shouting for Bafana all the way
...until the quarters when we wont be there anymore. :-[
Reckon Spain and Italy are the strongest contenders, but as always you have to expect some type of upset in a big tournament - maybe the Dutch or Portugal? Ass Always Germany, Brazil and Argentina will also be in the mix somewhere.
Eish, Tokai...Can you seriously imagine the media spectacle if England win it??? Dude, we will be bombarded with the type of exagerated hype that only the Poms can dish up. Hopefully we will be spared the compulsory Knighting of everyody from the baggage boy to the coach followed by the countless tabloid revelations of illicit affairs with bar ladies and bastard offspring... ?

I'll be supporting Bafoona Bafoona fa shaw.. but I don't count on us even beating Uruguay. I reckon we'll play our best against France, I think it'll be 0 - 0 at half time... then it'll be tickets. ☹

I love Holland, second to England they're my favourite team...definitely contenders to win the Cup...and hopefully they get the opportunity to give the Germans a good klap.
An Orange Stadium filled with Dutch supporters is going to look very cool.

Hahahaha....Gearhead, they did'nt even qualify for the last World Cup (which did surprise me) ......but they do have some good players, just like England, ......... but that's not enough..... ?
Is Guus Huddink their coach? Then I would be a bit more optimistic....
That said, their goalkeeper (hopefully Van Der Sar) is one of my favourites, because he plays for Man United, my son Eli's team..... ?

They did really well in the confed cup. Sure they played badly of late but think on this...
France are going to go into a game against SA thinking they are going to wipe the floor with them. Mexico have been beaten by Bafana before and will be wary, but I'm sure them an dUruguay will think it a walk in the park, which is a great time to surprise them with their secret weapon...
me... lol.
no, a great team spirit and good support can go a long way. I reckon every player in the whole tournament is good enough to be part of a winning team, they just don't know it yet. When they do, look out...

Not a big football fan, but if the world cup is in your home town everyone is a football fan!
So will support our time this year! I'm with Toka1 on the England winning it!
My wife is a huge fan of the English premier league, so she would most definitely back England on this one!
Jack-Flash-Jr
Bafana of course, rather they go out in a tough first round than an easy one (cynic alert!).
I saw Sep Blatter speak at a function in Khayelitsha on Sat, he kept referrring to the yellow dresses (t-shirts) that everyone was wearing. Tokyo, GodZille and Gadebe were also there... opengin of a Football for Hope Centre.
Feeling REALLY good about the event as a whole...

Lol, you lost 4 years somewhere. They didn't qualify for the 2002 WC, but played in the 2006 WC, in the then "group of death" with Argentina and Ivory Coast.
Squonk
This is Englands last great chance with Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Joe Cole.
Rooney will still be around for awhile, and in my opinion Rooney is the best player in the world at present. He might not have the skill of Messi etc, but he plays his heart out in every single game. (And NO, I am not a Man UTD supporter or England Supporter)
Coming back to Charlize. I saw her in the SABC studios, a couple of years back, I used to do support SAFM and has a good excuse to be there, and as Tokai says, she really is South African and there is no airbrushing involved, she looks that good in real life!
mattayou
I would love England to win, but they like Western Province Rugby. Almost there but not quite!
I have tickets to one of their games gonna be awesome!

Hhahahaa....lol.....I lose one here, lose one there, but 4years, geez, that's a moerse slip-up. I just knew they did not qualify once which shocked me (and the soccer world).....hahahaha...1000 apologies Gearhead. ?
Thanx for correcting me WantzC!!! ?

Bafana reaching round 2 will be akin to winning it, I'd be happy to put down my guitar and pick up the vuvuzela for that one ?
And England winning it? No chance. There will ineveitably be a penalty shoot-out along the way to make sure of that ?
Since my wife has Dutch blood and the Frogs screwed my blood relatives, Oranje will be my second choice
dee
I'll be rooting for our local boys for as far as they can go, but otherwise, I'll be supporting the Dutch as well.
