Alcatrax makepeace wrote looks interesting: http://capetown-westerncape.gumtree.co.za/c-Sports-Leisure-musical-instruments-Vinatge-Gibson-S1-1977-78-model-W0QQAdIdZ377956571 I bought one of these many years ago and frankly it was a load of rubbish. Terrible tone. It might have just been mine that was bad but generally the strange 70's "Less Pauls" that Gibson brought out are not well-regarded. Let your ears be the judge - just don't buy one without trying it first.

arjunmenon Here be the link: http://capetown.olx.co.za/transatlantic-guitar-amp-squier-strat-guitar-boss-me-70-guitar-iid-351107893 The guy's name is Marc (IINM) and he's letting it go for R 5200.00 Seems like quite a bargain to me considering what they go for new. Also, the TA-15's Vox voicing is a very very close copy of the Vox top boost voicing (from what i've heard). Good luck to the guy buys it. I wish i was flush :'(

If I had the 3 grand lying around I would have seriously considered it. Nothing a sander can't fix.

And maybe oiling the rosewood board to get it a bit darker.

Kalcium This strat seems rather cool and a great price. The bassman head looks to be worth it too if its in good condition http://durban.gumtree.co.za/c-Sports-Leisure-musical-instruments-USA-FENDER-STRAT-WITH-CUSTOM-PICK-UPS-W0QQAdIdZ385719517
