Mika, your amp shouldn't be near 8 on the Bass, my Bandmaster sits at 6 and 6 on the Treble/Bass controls, PLENTY of BASS on the 2 x 12 cab, I roll off Bass if anything.
I must tell you that the Sprague Atoms are FREAKING expensive, no matter where/who you buy them from, but they are built to last. The low voltage ones are not too bad it is the high voltage/high capacitance ones that kill you... for example an 80uF/450VDC Sprague Atom is going to set you back R89.00 EACH and the Twin needs 2 of those in the Power Filter section and then 3 smaller 20uF/600uF in the preamp section @ R145.00 EACH, but then again a cheap no name Chinese one locally is around R40-R60.00, so it is double the costs for a far superior cap that will last you 15-20 years.
Cheers

I don't know much about pricing of electronic components, but even though those prices you mention are higher than the cheap no-names, are they really THAT expensive if they
will last 15-20 years? Altogether that's just over R600 for something that will last a seriously long time. Split the cost over that period and it comes down to between R 30 and R40 per year - well worth it in my opinion.

I think this ties into your post about pedals too. Build them well, using high quality components and they will ast a lifetime and definitely be worth paying more for that.

As far as the amp goes, it sounds realy nice. Don't understand how you guys can turn those 100W+ amps over 1 or 2, though. I only have a 10W and it gets too loud for me over 5 ?
