Ok the festive season is almost upon us judging by the cheesy music in malls and the ubiquitous little christmas hats hanging on everything including online shop logos! Since a lot of you will be away, I propose our next shindig around the end of January. What think you?

I think we should also consider who's going to play bass for all these numbers. May I suggest that any number you want to do that you learn the bass lead and rhythm part, not only is it a good exercise in musicianship but it oils the gears of big get together if you can pass our knowledge around a bit rather show each thing than just show off

Will there be a drumkit and drummer? I can ask my friend to bring his drums or just himself if there's drums already.

Just in! "Cannon" are there for the whole evening as we have
just heard that Black Cat Bones have had to cancel their gig
on the 6th. We were gonna head through there late afternoon
to jam but now we open & set for the entire night at Graemestock!
If there's a gap we'll do a Set for u guys!

Does that mean that the drummer and drumkit from Canon will be there, and bass kit etc

Will have to check with Graeme. I think Djembis, Cajon drums etc will be best...a kit may take up too much space and we will have to lift the all the levels.....might be a bit much. I think percussion instruments may be the way to go.....but hey i'll talk to willem....he might set up a small kit.

We still need to confirm a bass player for the event. My suggestion to the axe noobies (I is one) is to practice whatever you feel comfortable with and then just join in as we go along.

Hey G et al,

Would anyone be keen on a short work shop on tube amps and how they work? I'm going to try and knock out a tweed champ next week and bring it along as a reference and just chat through tube amp basics, nothing higher grade, just the basics, a bit on tone, care for you amp etc? Maybe I could do it before or after your tube tamer demo? Might go well together, unless nobody is interested in that kind of thing?

This is a cool agenda with some good information to be conveyed. To me this makes this kind of get together very valuable.

Not that I'm likely to make it, but it looks like a real good event.

I think most of us know how to do that . It would be more useful if you could teach us how to get your arm out from under the strange animal sleeping next to you without waking or enraging it the next morning. LOL ?
