So... Just got offered a Vox AC30 for my strat. In a bit of a conundrum as to what to do. You see, I only got my strat 2 months ago, but it's never really done anything for me, much prefer the tone of my humbucker guitars and the feel of the shorter scale length of the other guits. So I guess my questions relate to the Vox. I've been gassing for a valve amp for a while, and here comes an amp that I assume is decent. Is it any good? Considering I play Ska/Rock.

Ja, I think being in double figures is pushing it a bit. and when I consider what I have I think its the one to go.

Fender MIM Strat - Stays. Its my Sweet Baboo
Epi Zakk Wylde LP - Stays ( you have no idea how awesome this guitar is)
Squier Strat MIJ - Stays, it was my first guitar...
Hohner acoustic - stays, it was my ballies
Ibanez classical - Stays
Ritmiller acoustic - stays, I took it on pilgrimage to Germany and had people sign it from all over the world.
Epi Flying V - Goes
Stafire nylon (my wife's) - may as well go or stay I dont care
Aria Fretless bass - stays
the Ibanez AFS - A community music school is interested in it. so I know it will be a good cause. but I sure don't play it enough.

just typing this list is asking me to do some more clips and take more photos...

I feel happier already! I was wondering around all day in my stoked state, but at the same time I was doubting it. Always kinda knew it wasn't going to happen, and as you say, the valve amp will come one day(hopefully sooner than later ?)

And I probably wouldn't be able to get this strat for the price I got it ever again! In the deal, I got the strat, an Ibanez Don now owns and is selling, as well as roland cube which I gave to my dad. All of it for a ridiculous amount!

Danny B....if you really want an AC30, consider trading your Strat right there in Durban for one. The CC's with blue alnicos are excellent amps. You could also consider buying a vintage one. Better option IMO. Good luck ! ?

Oh ya he does! He was cranking it full at the Smoke on the Water thing. It's a '59 he says. Barry said he was ridiculously loud, the only sound on stage was Steve ?

No AC30s are painfully loud when cranked. Two very efficient speakers in a loud amp. Or maybe I'm getting old too... ?
