Has anyone got one of these or had experience with them?

I saw a Phil 7 string guitar going for rather cheap. It looked like an Ibanez / Jackson copy and it had a Floyd Rose Trem as well.

I think I might go try it out... I await further GFSA inoput first... (It helps the GAS)
I had a Phil acoustic guitar (5 years ago). Not bad but not fantastic either. Only played on 2 of the electrics (strat like copies) they had in the shop but no 7 strings. Again, not bad but not great. Go and play it, if it feels good and sounds good then who cares about the name... ?
Its not the name I'm concerned about. There is no info on these instruments. I found more info on Venson guitars than these...
The brand is actually called 'Phil Pro'. But come to think of it, I've not seen them anywhere since about 3 years ago... They probably went belly up...
It must be good with a name like that... but that's just my biased opinion ?

I'm sure I remember seeing this brand of guitar, as far as a remember they were very basic models, entry-level stuff. I'm not entirely sure though
I've only ever seen a Phil bass guitar, and it didn't seem to have a truss rod at all... ?
well I took a few pics of it. It was rusted finished, had no bar for the trem and the salesman, Edmund, couldn't tell me a thing about it. It is very heavy.

I also took inmy BR and took a sound clip. It took forever to tune.... It must have been in that store for ages.

While I was there some random oke wandered up to me and asked, "Is that en electric Geetah?" Thats when I decided its time to leave...
I don't know them at all. I see it's made in Korea, which probably means it's made by either Samick or Cort and the quality should be OK.
Looks like a basswood body, rosewood fingerboard and maple neck. The missing bar shouldn't be a big problem - look at the Mighty Mite spares to see if you can find something the same.

All-in-all, if you're looking for a cheap way to get into 7-string and it's going cheap enough, why not?

LOL! The first music store I worked at was a small one in a shopping centre. Open plan with one whole wall absolutely crammed with guitars from floor to ceiling, from the front of the store to the back. We used to get a staggering number of casual browsers who would walk in the door (often pushing a Hyperama shopping trolley), take a long slow look around from the doorway and then say "Tell me... Do you sell guitars?".

Well, found this, their "top end" model PSM301 PRO is "Hand made in Korea by Myung Sung"

Other models' reviews can be seen/ read at:

Other than that, there seems to be no info or site to read up from, and they also seem to sell mostly out of Pawnshops....... ?

the model is MSF 231. and thats ALL I know.. :-\

I certainly dont need it so I'll go back in a months time and see if its still there then maybe I'll offer them R600 for it...
