See little bass stuff here .. so I thought I may as well mixit! I use an Eden WT550 Traveler Amp with two Hartke cabs ... either or or both. Got a Genz-Benz NeoX-212t on it's way. Git wise I have a Yamaha TRB1006, Cort NA6 (which I still think is awesome. Mine is basically perfect in every sense ... maybe I was lucky and got a good one!), Fender 5-String Jazz Bass and a Squier fretless Vintage Modified Jazz Bass (imo better than a MIM Fender. Finish outstanding and neck as sleek as you can get) Cheers for now The Midinut!
    Welcome to the forum! Nice rig, what are the cabs - a 4 X 10 and a 2 X 10? Flexible.

I've been lusting after the 5-string version of your Cort for ages - they are good basses. Your Fender Jazz 5 - is that the one with the pao ferro fingerboard and a nice "growl" to the tone? If so, I like those too. In fact, pretty good gear all round. I don't know the Squier, but I've heard good things about the vintage modified models.
      Hi Alan and fellow musos!

The cabs are all tens, but I am looking for a tad more bass and natural mids, hence moving to a Genz-Benz 2x12. These cabs are rated @ 600w RMS / 4ohms with neodymium speakers - so the cab is lightweight as well and my Eden will provide even more headroom!

On your comments: the 6-string Cort I have is something else. The neck is absolutely perfect (superlow action for jazz stuff) and comes with Bartolini pups and electronics. Even though it is not the top of the range Bartolinis, they are still excellent. My Fender is an original 1999 and if you know Jazz Basses, you hear them a mile away. Love the traditional sound ... that's why Fenders will go down in history as the most recorded bass!

The Squier Vintage Modified models are certainly some instruments the guys must check out. They are a little more expensive that the usual Squiers but then you get a better product. I bugged the hell out of Robin (Fender SA) to get hold of mine some months ago! I changed the bridge to a Gotoh which is a bit more substantial for fretless purposes only. Check it out here:

Keep well guys and let's see if we can get some more bass player participation!
A 4 X 10 has a lot of low end already. But then the Hartkes tend to be bright (to my ears, anyway). Wouldn't a 4X12 give you more of the low end you are looking for?

The vintage Modified I have heard a lot about is the maple fretboard fretted Jazz. While I like the tone of the Standard Fender bass bridges, I have to agree with you on the replacement bridge when it comes to a fretless - I like the Badass bridges myself.

I know Robin G fairly well, BTW - saw him at Fender last Monday.
