May I be so bold as to suggest a lower (or at least remaining where it is) number of posts to achieve Jr Member...?
Take my own case for example, I've been here basically a year. I generally keep to myself and don't have too many questions, thus not many posts. Now I don't really deem myself a "newbie" anymore, but if the limit keeps being moved up I will eventually be a guitar-hero in reality while being a newbie online....?
Perhaps an exponential function would suit the structuring best.
That said, also perhaps the names of the different ratings should be targeted more toward the fact that they indicate a number of posts rather than a skill level or something of the sort...
Newbie -> Newbie
Jr Member -> Occasional Poster
Sr Member -> Regular Poster
etc
That all said, I don't actually look at or notice my rating. Don't care much really. The value of the forum to me is in terms of information and not at all due to a "badge" I'm getting here or not.
Cheers
