slyd Hey .. . . talking Amps ... I run both my Strat and Peavey T60 thru an 80's Peavey Bandit 65w solid-state, and both sound awesome! To me it's the best sounding amp I've heard for a while ? If you are'nt totally 100% happy with your sound, you MUST go on a QUEST to find it. There's nothing better than being confident in your output ... :roflmao: "Seek and ye shall find" :-[Sorry . . . just my 5cents worth 8)
TomCat BTW a really nice high gain low powered tube amp is the Blackstar HT-5. Big crunching tone in a small package. http://www.blackstaramps.co.uk/products/ht-5/ht-5.html
Gearhead I don't understand this thread. First a new member states that he's reasonably happy with his gear and we know it hasn't cost him an arm and a leg. Then, MikeM leading the way, all sorts of wannahaves start telling him how much better other amps are..? The dude knows full well he will lust after something else somewhere along the line. If he sticks around on the forum long enough, he'll get GAS anyway. But you guys aren't even going to wait for it, no.. You tell him straight away he must sell his kidneys or whatever to get something 'better'. Leave the dude alone! @Seventhson: don't sell your amp, or your kidneys. Play the stuff you have for as long as you are happy with it and then some longer. Stick around on the forum long enough to know that the guys 'advising' their much better amps are really preparing to sell theirs to upgrade. Cheers (I have been without purchase for.. eh... 24 hours now...) ?
MikeM Perhaps you misunderstood the context of my post. It would be silly for me to say a MIA strat is a great guitar in a R15k range without playing any others. The Vox cost me R2600 I think, not much more than his R2500. The point I was emphasising that is you should hunt around and not buy on impulse. But I have chatted to the guy a bit and I think the amp suits his needs tbh..
Frans-B--Cocq Oh, you will. ? BTW I managed with a Micro Cube for quite a long time, and it wasn't bad at all. I've sold it now, and it was a great deal, as I bought if for 50EUR, used it and sold it for 75. ?
