First Lesson.....YAY......

I had my first guitar lesson last evening.....Wow, what a revelation.....

I've been trying to get to grips with guitar playing and specifically right hand stuff where I have battled to master the basics....??? :'(

Having a lesson was like switching the light on in a dark room. In no time my playing was improving......I also now have stuff I can practice and improve on this next week.

I'm now seriously fired up and cannot wait for the next lesson..... ? ?

hi, who are you going to for lessons. i have being going for lessons for the past year and a half, and you will never stop learning, it's great fun and the interaction with the class is dynamic, 8)

I was referring to the Tele only......Who knows what it will be after that....but there will definitely be something.....!!!!!

Good to see your also practicing what you've learned.

I find that some of my students expect to learn playing guitar by just attending the lesson. 98% of your playing depends on how much one practices. The teacher can only show you what to practice, the rest is up to you..

I know the feeling of what you experienced. I finally was taught how scales and chords and keys all fit together ( except not in 1 lesson ? ). Always very motivating after a lesson.

100% right , there is so much you can teach yourself, but you will need instruction on technique. and that is the key to a good guitarist, i have been going for lessons for about 18 months and i am still learning, they say to become good at something it takes 10000 hrs so chill and take it all in. you will never stop learning. 8)

I would get a teacher but I am woried that teacher teaches me bad habits.

If you mean bad habits like growing your hair long, frequently being late for appointments and driving a shitty car, maybe... But otherwise, yes, I think that's probably a misconception. If you find the right teacher, that shouldn't happen.
