When do you know you have enough pedals

The guys that have known me for a while on this forum, know that I'm a pedal addict and yes I am receiving couselling. I thought I had a really bad case of GAS until I saw this setup ??? Does this guy tap dance or river dance to change effects

voodo labs has a pedal control unit called the "Ground Control" which is being used by many of the top dogs, this thing looks awsome and i am looking at getting one myself. allows u to insert specific peldal loops in so that u don't have to tap dance pedals stay on and u just switch to the ones that are patched in for each song. apparently Marshall Music are recieving them pretty soon but at a hefty cost of R18 000,00
which is insane >☹. i think that dude must use one and he's just put out all his pedals to show what he's got.

otherwise u could get one off ebay for about $400-$800.

Well it would do that sort of ghostly look that you get by lighting a face from underneath. Might work well for the sort of deathlier kinds of rock or for an Alice Cooper show.

Basically these guys you see with so many pedals are just collectors with lots of spare cash, and suffering from severe GAS...nothing wrong really, as long as you have the spare cash. ?

There's guys who can play Gilmour using a Les Paul, a delay, a vibe/phaser, and any decent overdrive, and sound great.

But in reality no one can play or sound like the greatest guitarist on earth during the greatest live show on earth, no matter what pedals you use.

IMO of course.

That's silly. If you need that kind of effects complexity, you go rack. Stomp boxes with amps are great for tone and purity, but way to ungainly for the more extensive effects setups, and you quickly lose the tone and purity when you go beyond half a dozen pedals or so.

I keep on being tempted to go for amps and pedals as my main rig again, but I like complexity, so I'd end up with at least two amps and two pedalboards - just not practical in any way and not a simple gig rig (not that I gig anymore, but that's besides the point).
