Which brand would you choose??

I just thought it would be quite interesting to see the outcome of what BRANDS guitarists would choose.....PURELY BRAND.....so I'm gonna ask the question:

If you could only have ONE guitar, which BRAND would you choose? ......(does'nt matter whether it's Strat, Tele, LP, ES335, .....whatever......just BRAND.......)

1 Fender. 2 Gibson. 3. Ibanez. 4 PRS. 5 Cort. 6 Other.

Alan, if we've done this before, just scrap it!!!!

Be interesting to see what pops up, given how we've all been complaining of Fender and Gibson prices and Gibson consistency.

I'll bet that overpriced or not, they will still come up trumps.

This is electric only for me.

Hmm. This building option is confusing the issue. If Brent is, say, building a Strat because he wants a really good one...should that not count as wanting a Fender design, and therefore fall into the Fender category?

Given the list of brands provided I assume this is for ELECTRIC guitar. Most of those brands would not by high on my list for acoustics. For electrics I'd either build my own or go for a G&L.

BUT... I don't specifically want the BRAND? I love the design, but I feel I can build a R50k Custom Shop Fender equivalent for half that...

I dont know, from now on I am building my own... next is a Tele build. No Fender brand for me if there is a "build your own" option... Okay okay... But I do LOVE Fender

No way.. PRS are beautiful... Nothing like playing a custom 22.. Or a modern eagle.. Sigh.. I wish i owned one.. I would build one, BUT... Not sure it'd come out quite like a custom 22.. ?

Check out Warmoth bodies... and then see. trust me in the right hands you could build a guitar up their with the best of them, playing wise and looks wise...

What I mean is that we'd probably all vote for a build option because, ideally, we'd ALL want the best guitar we can have, and then brand wouldn't be an issue. But, there's surely a motivating factor behind the kind of build we'd go for and the parts we'd choose (the kind of guitar we're, actually, trying to "replicate" - only "better"), and to me that'd be what this poll is about (unless your build is a fairly radical new design). But maybe you guys see it differently.

Difficult for me as I have only owned
three Electric Guitars, Charvel model 3, Yamaha Pacifica 112 and my latest Peavey t-60
I couldn't play the first two as I couldn't make the transition from acoustic to electric.

The Ibanez George Benson (GB40?) is the one I would most like to have, so maybe Ibanez ?

I chose other (being BFOC) because after getting a custom that fits my needs 100% I would see buying one of those guitars for personal use as a step backwards.

There'll always be things that will put me off of one of the mentioned brands.

Nope - that's the design. The question here is the brand.
