I have a Fender Jap strat, roughly 10 years old. Still plays like a dream.
Anyway, I see American Strat prices are going through the roof (20k is what I last heard), so I want to get my guitar insured if it should ever... break ( and I'll die a little)
Any idea for what amount I should have the guitar insured for, so that if something happens I could easilly pick up another one.

I've insured my Squier strat at replacement value of a mex strat or second hand MIA. no use paying way more.

I have home insurance, so I just add all round coverage for my guitar.
I think I'm going to insure it for 15k, that way I would most likely be able to get an American Strat if something would happen. Going to cost R86pm. Not too bad I think...

I've added them to my home insurance too, but as carry around items. I insure them at replacement value, so if my GT8 goes I'll get a GT10 etc.
I pay just over R120 i think. Thats for 2 guitars at R7k, a pedal at R6k and an amp at R5k value.
