hello all, my "man" down at marshall called me to inform me to tell my students that the marshall sale will be this coming week ...
huge specials... and i stand corrected but it seems to be a 40% discount on anything in store...... since on fri he allowed me to buy a flight case at sale price at less 40% so i managed to beat the rush.......... they got some great gear at moment.... so go check it out.......
so if you have GAS you can now buy more for your buck .........
peace and light
Keira
ps... i'm not sure if this sale only applies to Marshall music in woodmead jhb...or all marshall musics country wide......just woodmead is my local music store so i get all the notifications
Attila

Just got back from the sale. They told me its between 35-50% off depending on brand. They have some really nice stock. Lots of Fenders (highway1's, standard Americans, etc). Thanks for the heads up Keira.

yeah i was there today again on behalf of some of my students to reserve guitars and i see in the entire shop they have only 2 nylons both yamaha sub R5000 left so i guess at these prices stock is flying out the door....
oh well enjoy this... seems the recession can work to our advantage.....
now i have my eye on a cajon and some more percussion goodies hehehehh it never ends.... now if i can can just work out how i can work it into the solo act... i will be shopping again .... least the gas for a guitar and amp has ended the accessories are considerably cheaper ....

hheheh vic try letting em take a message and call you back re a product they don't have in stock ........ with my branch in woodmead jhb i find i get the best service from going in and hovering like a hawk over the salesman.... till he places the order with the supplier ... then i get joy 2 days later ...
so yeah they have good stock and best prices i can get in my area .... but service is lacking ........
so don't be concerned if website is not up to date.... thats a minor in the big scheme of things....
just think maybe having the website down or with old data allows them a better discount margin.cos they not wasting money on IT ...... cos they really offer great prices ...well to me anyway .

I have to agree too, I can't understand the business mentality in SA quite often. In a world dominated by this virtual world, they just fail to grasp the benefits of it. Needs to be updated DAILY really. >☹
Maybe Norio can make them a proposition to get it up and running. ?

Maybe Norio can make them a proposition to get it up and running. Cheesy
+1 Maybe we should mail them this thread to show them how much potential business they are loosing. Bothners as well They don't even display a full product list anymore.

The South African business owner's mindset, as far as the internet goes, is "Prove to me that it works and then maybe I'll listen to you." To the extent that they don't want to pay for a great e-Commerce/CMS web site. They want it for free and then will consider paying you for it once they've made some money from it.
Success online requires full commitment from the company involved - without that, nothing happens. I think the best way to get that is to complain about their web site at every opportunity you get. If enough people make a noise about it, they'll eventually wake up and do something about it. But don't hold your breath. It could take months or even a few years!

Marshall CT are having a sale this weekend, 31st-2nd. Got a flyer in the traffic this morning. On the flyer "CHECK OUT OUR KILLER AUGUST WORKSHOPS ! Go to www.marshallcape.co.za" Quite disappointing to actually go to the website and get a link to their main website, and still nothing of substance. No details of workshops, nothing on what they stock etc... Agree with the others about the SA mentality of not having a proper web presence, especially when you hand out flyers telling people to go have a look at the website for details etc....
Will go check out the sale, although my wife will probably not want me to go ?

Eish.
To be told to go to a website that says "Our site is currently under construction" ... and with the latest newletter a year old.
Then redirect to a site that gives the date of the sale and "up to 50% off"
Commercially unforgiveable.
