CDee wrote: Hi,

This week picture this:
Your driving in your car and you see them dreaded blue lights in your rearview mirror >☹
You were going way too fast... You realise you got totally taken in by the song on the radio and it made you go faster and faster...
So, this week challenge:
Make a song that makes you want to drive and drive fast. Nothing less than 110bpm!

Enjoy!

Entries must be submitted Before midday Monday 19th. Please state clearly in your PM to me which category A or B you wish to compete in, the choice is yours not mine. for other rules and info check this thread http://www.guitarforum.co.za/monthly-competition/weekly-competition-rules-and-info/
Reminds me of the first time I drove from Cape Town to Jo'burg ... through the night ... listening to Radar Love ...
      ooh ooh ooh!!! Sa-weet! :woohoo:

Don't think there's been a better topic for me!
Nothing less than 110bpm? ??? I think the slowest piece of music I've ever recorded is 120bpm ? This should be fun ?
Wish I could shred. I found that listening to Luca Turilli's Rhapsody of Fire makes me want to drive and then some more. Lucky for me and them my car has a lawnmower engin in so that fast driving only clocks in at about 70 kph.

This is good. This challenge will be challenging my weak points. I've been meaning to boost up my playing a bit. I got a good tip on the Classical guitar forum. It's kind of the opposite to the way I was taught. My natural instinct was always to play louder when I play faster and my teachers always tried to train that out of me. This guy says "go for it" and play louder and faster than usual so that when you play it at speed it's easier.

I'll also aim to record with my sound card. I've been too intimidated and had recording anxiety. If I wus out please pay no attention.

Not that I'm a fan of people who speed, I've had the experiance of being an idiots safety cusion when he lost control of his car. Luckily my car is a sturdy old gem.

i've started mine ? so hopefully ill finish it! hehe
                      Great topic.

Be warned though: my vote will not go to anyone who makes, revving/acceleration noises with a whammy bar! ?

If only I had a whammy bar!! ? I'm sure the guitarist from Meatloaf was a champ at doing that.

Hey but wait I know another way to make revving sounds I think :-\
should make it interesting and say acoustic instruments only... ?
Sounds interesting, Now that my boss micro BR is fixed, I'll also try and work something out.

Todd Rundgren, wasn't it? Or Bruce Kulick?

I'm not sure who it was, I just remember being captivated by the sounds he made when my dad whipped out the old Bat Out Of Hell DVD!

Dang, here I thought I was the only person to pick up a piece of glass and slide it down the strings ?

DUDE! my entire intro was based around that! :'( damn... I guess it's a bit predictable... ill do something different... eish...
The song that I shouldn't listen to is 'Motorhead - Ace of Spades'. For some reason I feel the Need for Speed when listening to that song. :-[
Megadeth!!! I crashed my car speeding to that! METAL!! ? hehehe
