Heavy lies the crown, i guess...
If I had'st a crown, I would'st smelt it to plateth me some pretty bitchin' hardware. ;D
Say how far are you with your book?
Slooooow! Just finished chapter 3 of 11. But the more difficult chapters are finished and some upcoming ones (like the partscaster chapter) I can coast through without engaging my brain gears, so the tempo is picking up...
Seriously missing your stuff about the partscaster. Anything similar in the pipeline?
A few small things like fitting a SuperSwitch to the partscaster and swapping some metal tuner buttons for ebony ones, but most of the fun stuff is over for the mo.
Oh, yeah... I'll be defretting a birdseye maple neck soon and refinishing with an acid catalysed epoxy finish! That's the biggest thing I have planned, but... who knows? I'm prone to accidentally ordering interesting stuff when I'm not paying attention.
I blew most of my gear fund on the stuff for the book, so I'm keeping myself on a short leash. Otherwise I'd be getting a six saddle Tele bridge and a Graph Tech Piezo system for the partscaster. Maybe trying a few different bridge pickups. I need some new tools too: radiused sanding blocks, nut files, fret crowning files, precision router base, etc., etc., etc... Actually a CAD/CAM router/miller and a Plek wouldn't go amiss either. Anyone got a few million handy?
I've started designing some high-end electric guitars, BTW. No serious plans yet, just toying with ideas.
Also, i'd love to hear your opinion on the Musicman Petrucci 6-String model.
Good guitar. Designed to be very much a one-dimensional metal machine - but a good one.
