Hi
Would like to find out, do you guys gym? And if you do, how do you deal with playing guitar with sore arms and things?
Sounds random, but i find it a bit of a problem but i won't quit either one of them

Take some bcaa's or amino acids, just make sure it contains glutamine. I rarely ever get stiff from gym besides the first week after a long gap, and i gym pretty hard.
Rudolf
Keep at it bro, I gym every morning and the muscles get used to it in no time, usually just a few days to a week max. Then you'll really only hurt if you, well, hurt yourself by taking on too much weights or bad technique.

Good advice, Rudolf. That right-hand curl in your profile pic speaks volumes for good technique.

It's all in the pinky! Takes the strain off the wrist.

Just started strength training, I've been doing Muay Thai for years, now it's time to pack on the mass. I never really have a problem with soreness that effects my playing. When I play violin, I do though. I would suggest plenty of protein and always stretch alot before and after workouts

Normally you only get hurt if you don't train consistently. For me at least it's like that. The first while of training will hurt and suck but just keep training and don't exerting yourself too much.
Since Feb last year, I've been training 3 hours a day, which went down to 2, which went down to 1...
now I'm so busy recording everyday I almost have no time.
I train MMA but mainly kick boxing so even after the intense workout I put myself through I still managed to play the next day ?
Just make sure you practice before.
The rules might change if you're a body builder.

I push myself constantly which is a bit of a problem, i'm naturally a skinny guy so i have to push to get my weight up. Also because i had flu/cold and had to take a break it didnt help very much. Gyming hard on weights means more tearing muscle to grow and being hurt from that, so its not lactic acid thats the problem.
I'll start using creatine and drinking lots of protein shakes again to help combat this, thanks guys!
P.S. Speedstar, cool sport to do, i used to do kickboxing in high school!

Lactic acid is an inherent part of exercise, you can only minimize it, not eliminate it. The muscle fatigue shouldn't be that bad if you warm up and cool down properly and keep the fluids up.
Fluids are vital, don't skimp on water intake before, during or after. Guy I know has gone into renal failure due to USN products and not enough fluid intake. They've given him 3 months.

Renal failure? 3 months to what? Death?
Spyke
Renal failure is a kidney shut down. If he can't somehow manage to get a transplant soon he'll be dead in 3 months. Waiting list is two years. Not pretty...

mmmm maybe forget gym totally ......... and just buy yourself a genuine les paul.... they heavy enough that if you jump about on stage for 2 sets a show with it you will do enough weight training ............. and use the gym time for rehearsing
on a serious note...repetitive stress is a serious worry .... i know pro muso's who battle constantly with it ....... try remedy it somehow before you do permanent damage... the rule of thumb is "if it hurts ...there's something wrong!!!!!!!!!"
peace and light

Keira's on to something!
Get a les Paul (get another for backup), two 4x12 cabs, 2 heads a Pedal board with enough pedals for you and your other members.
All in flight cases. But with no roadie.
You and your tone will be in good shape in no time ?

The wife and I use "Slow-Mag" for when we go shooting.....deals with aches and pains of stressful exercise.......maybe try it. Available at any pharmacy.

Thanx for the heads up Spyke, Im about to so start on USN.
It would suck to die when trying to become healthy ???
deanBailey
It's a good thing I hate supplements ?
But now that I sorta stopped eating meat I need to pickup on protein.

Why not just build natural muscle for the more ripped look? Men generally tend to build natural bulk around the age of 30 anyway...Rather stay skinny than end up with too much bulk that you can't maintain when you get older.
